Canon had a good app for Android called Camera Connect - to download images to the computer and connect to the camera. However, it was full of bugs, errors, slowness, imperfections, and insane battery consumption.
Today the app was updated, and I had a naive thought: "Updated, fixed, improved!" Sure. Now they have, in addition to everything that already didn't work, added mandatory login via CanonID. And registration is not possible - the page, probably written by the same clumsy development team, consistently goes to a 403 error.
I hate corporations.

#Linux and #Windows users with experience with #VirtualMachines, I need help. I've tried to install #ArchLinux 3 times now. The first time, I got a permission denied error because I chose the loopback device, not the #VMWare one. The second and third time, I did everything right but got an error saying the device path was not set. Does anyone know what might cause this?

I think of my self as a techie, But I had a real dumb moment. For the last few months, I have been planning for uni (I still want to podcast).
I was thinking of using the **focusrite scarlett**, but it had lots of noise. I was watching this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YUY7HGCbpXE), where he talks about how **audio can be effected by a power supply**. I knew this but had entirely slipped my mind.
Now it works perfectly... not doing that again
This morning, right after bringing online the new reverse proxy for BSD Cafe's media, based on OpenBSD, I encountered some strange errors. PowerDNS frequently flagged it as down, which was quite frustrating. So, I disabled it while I figured things out.
Shortly after, the entire VPS became unreachable, and the provider informed me of an issue with the physical node, causing connectivity instability.
Turns out, PowerDNS was right. So, I can say: "It was the DNS." But in a positive sense. 😆
Hey @writingcommunity - anyone else having a lot of trouble with #submittable? I keep getting error messages from #cloudflare so cannot log on to send out work - even when I'm logged into my own account on another tab?! Mrs. Ref is heading to Seattle next week, so we came down to my office to see if her computer would work on a different network. It didn’t.
She had the right password, but it never connected. This could be a problem since she’s planning on working part of the time she’s there. Hopefully she’ll get it figured out.
