It will never stop annoying me when I offer something on #TrashNothing or #Freecycle, and someone says they want it and names a specific day and time when they're going to come pick it up, and then they no-show and ghost me.
If you're enough of a grown-up to be participating in one of these groups, you're enough of one to figure out to show up when you say you're going to or apologize if you can't.
Grow the fuck up, show some respect for other people.

There's a very cool elderly lady who will be wearing her bus pass with attention-getting high-tech references to grab the eyes of young techies on the buses.

"Excuse me ma'am, did you invent the original ZigBee protocol?"

TIL about https://trashnothing.com, which is like the "buy nothing" facebook groups, just not on facebook. Essentially, don't throw anything in the trash that someone else might still want to use. Give it away.

The software seems really well done and there is considerable activity on the platform in my area.

Well that did not last long. Essentially, Olio are trying to capitalise on Freecycle and the Trash Nothing app. https://www.freecycle.org/

I deleted Olio as soon as the pay money to the Olio app, for their premium 'service' came up. Yuk! What is wrong with startups like this - are they starving? Greedy? It took less than an hour for them to reveal their moneterisation of food plan ...

In the UK and in Greater #London, we have food charities/banks being used by working people. I am going to Church and eating the whole Eucharist and wine ... The dharmic #charities in #Tooting are feeding people (as are the #Churches and #Mosques)
I have to start giving again on #Freecycle and #TrashNothing. I also have two bags of clothes, charity shops like #Oxfam in walking distance ...

While I am happy I was able to donate 7 bags of clothes, and post three offers on trash nothing, the fact it did not make a noticeable change in the volume of clutter in the house is frustrating. #hoarding #TrashNothing

Montreal folks seem to use freecycle more than TN, but compare to Ottawa which uses both equally, or some other cities which use TN more vs Freecycle.

I like that neither site is tied to Facebook or other big sites like that, far more accessible :)
