I want more!
As a cyclist I love it when I pass one of these trust kiosks. This one was selling honey and calendula cream. As a none-swede am not connected to their Swish-system, so I had to leave some cash.
Please, all trust kiosks owners, leave a box for us! It felt strange to just leave the cash in the open, but thank you for the golden honey 🍯 Thank you, Tyra and Melker.

Out cycling I spot Macrolepiota procera (stor parasollsopp) everywhere! They are easily spotted but so are all the other mushies, like all the porcini. So much food 🥘

I think it is at least five years since we have had such a great mushroom year here in the belt south-Norway-Sweden. I have great hopes for finding Craterellus cornucopioides (svart trumpetsopp) this autumn. What I do miss is Hydnum rufescens (piggsopp) - where is it?!

It looks like dried fish, but is dried porcini (steinsopp). It is a delicious snack, tasting somewhat like potato chips but with a little more body, and of course less salty.
I dried it in my oven overnight at 60 degrees centigrade, and wish I had made more.

The not so common mushroom I found yesterday, Sparassis crispa (blomkålsopp), was still at the root of the pine. I did have to scare away an elk though (seriously!). It was a small one, but it ran fast when he saw my mushroom knife 🤷🏼‍♀️
I sliced the mushrooms, and fried it in butter, garlic, salt and pepper, on some good, dark bread. On one of the slices I placed some cheese to see if it made any difference, and I did like the cheesed one the better.

I’ve got a cold and can’t really taste it like I suppose it should, but what I taste is vey good.

Anyone who wants to take a guess on the weight? I did check before dipping it in water for a clean.

Out riding for a long bike tour today, I decided to visit an old natural castle (“fornborg”) from around 400 ac. How great was my surprise when I discovered this Sparassis crispa (blomkålsopp) at the top 😳
I have never come across it before, and because I am out cycling I have to leave it for today.
Will it be here tomorrow?
