The not so common mushroom I found yesterday, Sparassis crispa (blomkålsopp), was still at the root of the pine. I did have to scare away an elk though (seriously!). It was a small one, but it ran fast when he saw my mushroom knife 🤷🏼♀️
I sliced the mushrooms, and fried it in butter, garlic, salt and pepper, on some good, dark bread. On one of the slices I placed some cheese to see if it made any difference, and I did like the cheesed one the better.
I’ve got a cold and can’t really taste it like I suppose it should, but what I taste is vey good.
Anyone who wants to take a guess on the weight? I did check before dipping it in water for a clean.
