• Deshalb hat #Australien auch faktisch alle Import-Geräte ausgesperrt weil der #Notruf (dort 000) bei quasi allen Telefonen auf #2G / #3G - Telefonie umschaltet und daher nicht funktioniert, weil die dort alles außer #4G & #5G abgeschaltet haben!

Wer also nach "Down Under" will muss sich dort erstmal nen Telefon Vor-Ort kaufen was ohne Aifenthaltstitel wegen "#KYC" - Bullshit nicht möglich ist!

@Takuto Das Problem sehe ich auch bei Geräteherstellern die nicht konsequent #VoLTE, #Vo5G und #VoWiFi / #VoIP unterstützen ubd werksseitig aktivieren.

• Das wäre IMHO sinnvoll und würde viele Probleme beheben.

Ernsthaft, #O2 muss mal #AMRWB und #WiFicalling sowie #VoLTE & #Vo5G konsequent ausrollen!

• Cheap #VoLTE routers will spit you out an RJ-11 jack you can hookup to the #FritzBox's #DSL port whilst having it not act as #Modem.

• Better #VoLTE boxes, often called "#GoIP" or "#GSMoverIP" literally run an #Asterisk server on them, some even can do Multi-SIM & call routing themselves or just expose each SIM as a SIP connection to link a #VoIP phone / #PBX to.

You'll find a crapton of those on Aperzon, eNay & ShitExpress!

• The Tenda 4G06 is just the cheapest I could find with an actual brand name attached to it…

• Personally, I did use such boxes to migrate seniors from landline to #GSM & #LTE whilst letting them keep their (accessible, hearing-aid compatible) desktop handset.

1. Marcad en el dialer *#*#4636#*#* (algunos forks propietarios deshabilitan el menú que lanza esta marcación; si no os sale, pasad al paso 3)
2. En los ajustes que os saldrán, buscad Set preferred network type y seleccionad NR/LTE (5G y 4G respectivamente) o LTE only si no contáis con 5G.
3. Como extra, en Ajustes > Redes e Internet, si os sale el menú Seguridad de redes móviles, marcad la Protección de redes 2G.

Si usáis #GrapheneOS, la opción de seleccionar solo 4G y/o 5G las podéis encontrar también en Ajustes > Redes e Internet > SIMs > {$operadora} > Tipo de red preferido
De paso, activad #VoLTE y #VoWiFi si no lo tenéis aún.

La infra telefónica sigue siendo insegura y se debe considerar no confiable: esto es solo reducción de daños al deshabilitar #2G y evitar sus múltiples inseguridades salvo cuando llaméis a Emergencias, que bajará a 2G independientemente de toda esta configuración.

Доброго времени суток уважаемый читатель. В данной статье я хочу поделиться моим опытом запуска лаборатории технологий мобильной сети в домашних условиях. Не буду вдаваться подробно в настройки (как настроить Open5GS или проект osmocom можно нагуглить без проблем), статья планируется все же обзорная. Позже, если будет время и заинтересованность читателей, возможно напишу более подробно – с настройками, дампами сигнального обмена и прочее. Надеюсь, моя работа вдохновит вас тоже на подобные поиски и развитие в направлении технологий связи.

This creature just got VoLTE working on its Pixel 3a XL (bonito) on LineageOS.

All that was required was editing /system/build.prop, and (unsure if this was actually needed in the end) setting some environment variables.

VoLTE is provisioned, available and working, VoWiFi is provisioned but unavailable while roaming so that'll be tested later, and IMS is registered.

Why this isn't enabled by default is baffling, as this device clearly supports this. Funnily enough, my carrier does not say this phone supports VoLTE, yet a call was successfully connected.

Et donc nous v'là dans le caca celleux qui ont un OS alternatif sur ces smartphones 😤

Seeing what it takes for #VoWiFi to work, all the different things the phone talks to: IPsec to ePDG, IPsec to P-CSCF, AKA auth everywhere, SIP for call establishment and sending/receiving SMS messages (which are still encoded like good ol' GSM underneath). There's so many moving parts in modern mobile networks! Big respect to those who understand how all of that works.

#FreeMobile avait envoyé un SMS en juillet et en septembre, et un mail vers mi-novembre, recommandant d'activer activez la #VoLTE (voix sur le #réseau 4G) pour bénéficier d'une qualité audio supérieure, d'une couverture réseau améliorée et d'une meilleure autonomie de la batterie de son mobile.
Il y a moins d'une semaine, ils ont changer un truc et les appels ne passaient plus à divers endroits dans #Paris et en #banlieue à moins de d'activer « Appel en 4G » dans les paramètres du téléphone (les SMS et internet mobile continuant de fonctionner).

Entre les termes et technologies voix #VoNR, #VoLTE, #VoWiFi, il peut être difficile de s'y retrouver. Free a publié un guide qui aide à décrypter ces technologies d'appels qui remplacent progressivement les anciens #réseaux #2G et #3G.

Remember the Amazon Fire Phone? A friend of mine is still using it!

Only for phonecalls and texts, and the occasional photo, but she never connects the phone to the internet. Sometimes it crashes, but generally my friend is happy with the #device .

Unfortunately, Canadian operators are turning off #3G soon, and although the Fire Phone supports #LTE, it is likely not working for #VoLTE.

So now she has to buy a new phone..
