Remember the Amazon Fire Phone? A friend of mine is still using it!

Only for phonecalls and texts, and the occasional photo, but she never connects the phone to the internet. Sometimes it crashes, but generally my friend is happy with the #device .

Unfortunately, Canadian operators are turning off #3G soon, and although the Fire Phone supports #LTE, it is likely not working for #VoLTE.

So now she has to buy a new phone..

@senderolinux Thank for that info. I don't actually use unencrypted voice calls, just need 4G. The real issue is the carrier kicking your device off the network where 3G is disabled. @Mynameisallen @potatoguy VoLTE is supported on the #Librem5 with #postmarketOS - I'm daily driving one. Old units will need modem firmware upgrade plus enabling #VoLTE manually.
