On May 7 #BCgovernment #MinistryOfForests announced the launch of a new #Forest Operations #Map (FOM) portal where #BritishColumbians can now access & comment on proposed operations, including #cutblocks & #roads, after amendments to Forest & Range Practices Act #FRPA.

Though the majority of #forestry companies in #BritishColumbia have committed to presenting their proposed operations in the #FOMportal, the project is currently #voluntary, the press release stated.

How many options do we need? Obviously more than 1,2,3 for democracy. However for OS appearance, #Free #software? How many is enough? Can we go back to simplified, less is more? I am not a retro nut. I like new 2.

Practically no one wants to go back to the abacus for calculations, or the slide-rule. So black and white #appearance is great as an #option. I tried it. Liked it. :blobcatthx:

Then this #morning ... Spent 45 minutes trying to get the #colour back. As it was befuddling my pre-breakfast #mind grog.

It is like an American #supermarket. Too many notes. Too much #choice. Mostly in every #aisle/shelf. All #junk food #similarities. Use a little #restraint. Not interested in searching help and countless obscure menus just to #revert. I have whinging and grumbling to fume about ... :ablobcatlurk: Yep, we might not even know or use the revert option. :ablobcatbouncefast:

#Voluntary #simplicity. Where is the #option slider? Oh dear, have I given someone another layer of #complexity to add? This is the way ... :ablobcatcoffee:

The idea that #school can force you to volunteer in order to graduate is utterly repulsive.

Required #volunteering is not #voluntary . Frankly it's unpaid (or even reverse paid, if you're paying to attend) labor. That's insane. And it needs to stop.
