Sometimes mysql shuts down unexpectedly when using with XAMPP.
There is a workaround here to solve this:

Hello ! Après le travail d'un stagiaire pour l'asso queer dont je fais partie, il nous a laissé son travail (refaire le site) dans un dossier wordpress .zip et un .sql pour la base de donnée. Est ce que des gens peuvent m'aider à l'utiliser sous XAMPP svp T-T ?? j'ai essayé de trouver de la docu et tout mais y'a toujours un soucis :blobcat_flamethrower:

Wer kennt sich mit XAMPP unter windows11 aus? Meine Fragen:
1. Welche Ports empfehlen sich für eine lokale Testumgebung (80 funktioniert bei Apache nicht)
2. Wie starte ich die mysql Datenbank-Umgebung, damit ich eine bereits existierende Drupal-Datenbank integrieren kann und
3. Drupal 10.x neu lokal installieren und damit verbinden kann?
4. Bei mir wird derzeit nicht einmal eine .htm Seite lokal angezeigt. Liegt das an einem Virenscanner? Andererseits möchte ich auch nicht komplett auf den Virenschutz verzichten.
5. Aber wie konfiguriert man lokal den XAMPP so, dass der Virenscanner/Firewall damit zusammenarbeitet bzw. was müsste man bei der Firewall "schrauben", damit XAMPP tut, was er soll?

For years I've used XAMPP as my local dev environment for PHP. I just put up with the regular SQL crashes that forced me to spend 15 minutes restoring database backups half the times I started it. As if that was an integral and unavoidable part of the process. A couple of weeks ago I started a new personal project and decided to install WAMP instead. Rock solid and stable every time. Cursing myself for not switching sooner.
@mook @MastodonEngineering Personally, I do want to see some #ActivityPub implementation that doesn't require a full #VPS to be setup can run off a basic #WebHost with a managed, permisionless #XAMPP / #LAMP stack like any decent #CMS developed in the last 20 years...
- I've yet to find one, or any hoster that even offers #managed #glitchsoc which implements the missing features except #BlocklistFeeds quite nicely...
I would consider #SelfHosting but I've got more pressing things to do in my life and I'd rather chip in a donation to any instance I'd be using in the meantime...
