Personal website has been incredibly purple in the past to the point of being hard to read for some. Have now pushed an update fully changing the color style and I'm liking how this new look turned out :nkoHappy:

If you're a fan of static web pages or even a glimspe of a simpler time, I've deployed this little front end on my Neocities site. The center column specifically links to a collection of my own retro personal sites I built in the 1996-2001 timeframe. A fun little project I thought I'd share. Visit

I love the #yesterweb community, they make such cute and colorful websites https://nekoweb.org/
yoo i made my first ever website!

I'm not new here but i haven't done an #introduction to the #fediverse yet.
Hello, I'm Chase. 28, Developer from Germany. At work i meddle with Kotlin, Web and Android development while at home I'm a contributor to the #telegram java library, I'm interested in #electronics and #woodworking and about a year ago i dove into the #yesterweb, of which I'm actually now part of (https://chasenet.neocities.org)
I also attend #ccc events like #GPN22.
Aside from that i like birds and #sailing
New #blog post on #Linux Kernel Self-Protection. My blog is entirely written using #Emacs and I am having some trouble with #LaTeX,
but I thought I would go ahead and share since I haven't published anything in almost a year. Also have 2 other blog posts that are recent and these all are basically my notes for future ref, still worth sharing, enjoy!
I've taken a hiatus from my blog site for long enough.
Was really into last year and then life got in the way, you know... how it do some times ¯\(°_o)/¯
But I think a webring keychain of old would be really cool to be a part of and if anyone wants to link up I like to write about Tech, security, and apocalyptic indieweb type stuff
I've been looking around at the #IndieWeb and #Yesterweb movements and it's very amusing to me that the IndieWeb folks are all interoprability! open source! microformats! and meanwhile Yesterweb are faithfully recreating neon animated gif geocities gore and look like they're having much more fun.
Not an endorsement as I've never used them, but thought some out there may be interested in a NeoCities alternative I haven't seen discussed much: NekoWeb

Been fiddling around with this blog/website, need to make it a little bit better but hey, I posted a new blog entry about the nostalgia of the yesterweb. (Also will probably need to figure out the social media cards that show up when you link websites)

I found this postmortem from the #yesterweb team really interesting.
I don’t know what it is about me, but I don’t think I’ve ever experienced the kind of online community that this team tried to create. Almost all of my interactions online are with relationships that started in person.
At all the #retroweb #yesterweb #webdev coders, what tools and frameworks do you use for coding your #personalwebsites?
I'm having a hard time finding tools and frameworks that works without admin access to a server, which I don't have on my webspace - #ftp only, #oldweb #Web1_0 style.

This is really silly, but I find it heartwarming to see that this guy still has his joy and sense of humour after two decades. This is one of the rare youtube videos where it is worth reading the comment section. #yesterweb #oldinternet https://youtu.be/ZBKm1MBsTbk?si=NEzjoKdGm5bKcG8V
Made some updates to my blog today and looking for some feedback.

It's been a journey coming at this project knowing that I wanted to make it lightweight, minimal, nojs and publishing everything from within Emacs.
The website is hosted on cloudflare pages which is free and makes calls to my git repo so ever time I make a push to that repo my blog will update.
Emacs has a powerful feature called org-mode that resembles markdown. org-publish turns those org files to HTML. My static blog page is written only using html css and emacs.

I reworked my pixel art adoptables / toybox page on my #neocities site to be part shrine to the toybox era of the early 2000s, so if you like that #OldWeb nostalgia, please take a look and enjoy: https://lostletters.neocities.org/toybox/ It's also my super late submission for the #OldWebNostalgiaJam :zerotwo_yikes: I'm really proud of how my first attempt at coding a flexbox page turned out! #yesterweb
The second 32bit.cafe Community #codejam theme is "character", so you know I had to make a tamagotchi shrine. I'm definitely more than a little rusty when it comes to coding, but the shrine is looking so cute! :cat_hearts: I can't wait to share it. If you're 18+ and want to join in on the jam, check it out here: https://tilde.32bit.cafe/~hermit/community_jam_2/ #yesterweb #indieweb folks, don't miss this! :blob_wave:
been working on my own #website, somewhere where I can talk about my creations and my thoughts and stuff outside of social media, while also being able to control what videos I make and how I show them to people. im still developing it but I realised that some people might get a kick out of seeing a misshapen website mid construction, so if you hate yourself enough, feel free to refresh the page now and again. it might change lmao
