it should be adopted by the coming Web1.0+ - a de-centralized, federated internet, ran for and by People, often self-hosted, where corporations do NOT control what we see or can do and access, but now with obscenely fast broadband and stupid powerful processors, running on FOSS =D

After seeing today's Lateral episode (this is not a spoiler btw), I was reminded of the days when sites would use pop-up licences on their websites. Specifically, the ones where the text in the pop-ups was editable - because someone fucked up.

You could literally delete some/all the text and write whatever you wanted in its place. Then you'd click the ACCEPT button and it'd work.

I'm still owed billions of dollars as well as several first-born children.

This is a screenshot of a TKinter implemented version of a pirate themed desktop board game. It features a map of the Caribbean as background. Around and across the board there are spaces with different images. Its main colors are the different shades of brown and red to resemble an old map. The images are cartoonish vectorgraphically drawn ones. On the middle there is an event card about a broken compass.

I just noticed that bsky.app puts a large amount of a post’s text in the page title. Blast from the past! This makes me nostalgic for days past when page titles were useful.
