Me and some of my humans have an annual tradition of watching bad holiday movies a few times during December. Every year the selection process evolves to further help us choose the best of the newly released Hallmark Holiday Trash.

This year I put in a lot of work to make a spreadsheet of this year's releases so noone else has to sift through listings and track down trailers!

Judith Heumann passed away a few days ago.

I have a lot of feelings about it and if you aren't familiar with her work as a disability rights activist, it'd be really neat if you went and learned about her today.

I highly recommend the documentary 'Crip Camp' which follows a small group of disabled peers at a summer camp, Judy included, that eventually grew into a huge disability rights movement and ultimately led to the creation of the ADA in the US.

There was snow here for about a wk which triggered a physical crash, interrupting my routine of gentle daily exercise. Now my heart rate is back to being ridiculous again. It’s amazing how much a 10 day break from a little bit of daily stretching has thrown me backwards!

Over the previous 6wks it was really nice to focus on managing just fatigue without having to also worry about how my heart was doing in response to sitting upright. Back to the routine I go!

So weirdly I actually started with knits! I found them to be a lot more forgiving when I was learning.

Maybe start with regular straight stitches to get a feel for how much you can stretch your fabric while sewing without warping them. Zigzag stitch is good too; anything that's easy to rip out. I started with stretch stitch, where you have to *not* stretch your fabric while sewing, and I warped the fabric a lot *and* it was way harder to rip out the stitches.

I do not speak for all #queer people with this, but for me personally, my request is not that you don't play the #HarryPotter game. There are reasons people are making that request and they should be listened to, but my ask is a bit different.

My ask is in many ways much, much harder: Don't engage with it at all.

This means: Don't read reviews. Don't watch ads for it. Don't watch streamers who are doing lets plays. Tell youtube to not recommend channels that discuss it. Nothing.

So at my cardiologist today I was informed that I am not just supposed to be wearing compression socks, I need compression garments all the way up to my waist?!

I've officially been prescribed leggings by a medical professional. Guess I really do have to start sewing all of my patterns for them soon.

Yesterday’s hot chocolate festival run to Laduree with a friend! I had a Saint Honore Vanilla Caramel, a tasty arrangement of dark chocolate, caramel, vanilla, almonds, and tiny choux!

She had a Plaisir Sucre, a dream of dark chocolate, hazelnuts and (vegan?!) Chantilly. I did not try it but it sounded delicious!

Is good hot chocolate stop this year.

This year I have started a few days late because I am very limited physically rn, but this is my favourite annual event and I will not be prevented from enjoying tasty chocolate drinks over the next few wks!

I had to give Doctor Cat her first of two doses of kitty sedative to prepare for tmrw's vet appointment and now she is a pile of jello awkwardly splayed across the bottom of my closet. I feel guilty but also she's so freaking cute and purry with giant saucer pupils, my poor stoned baby. 💜

Last night, with guidance from https://transit-finder.com/, I positioned myself along the narrow line where the International #SpaceStation would pass between me and the nearly full moon.

I used a Fujifilm X-T4 shooting 4K video through a Celestron 8” SCT to capture the pass. Then, back at the computer this morning, put together these views with PIPP, Registax, and GIMP.

Quite pleased. My best yet.
