Neat! There's a Quick Share app made with Libadwaita on Flathub now, called "Packet".

This means you can now natively send and receive files with Android's "Quick Share", without installing anything on a phone. (It can also send/receive files with another Linux desktop computer using the "Packet" app on both.)

I'm in the market for a new (to me) laptop with good Linux support. I know there's a handful of manufacturers offering Linux hardware and they all seem great. My number one requirement is great battery life. I want to be able to be mobile and not be constantly worrying about where outlets are.

My use case: small projects, shorter video playback (quick yt tutorial, class videos but not necessarily looking for 4k movie playback), light gaming meaning like maybe some GBA emulators not AAA titles or competitive online stuff.

Does anyone have any real world use cases wrt battery life for System76, Tuxedo, Framework, Starlabs laptops?

@cambria I've got around 8h on a Tuxedo infinitybook from a couple of years ago and I think people reported roughly the same on other Tuxedos (I strongly recommend using it with Tuxedo OS only, so chose something else if you don't like KDE) and on Framework.
Check videos from @thelinuxexperiment, he did a couple of reviews where he checks battery life. Note that if you're like me and never go over 5% screen backlight, you'll probably get one hour more than him.

ActivityPub question: why is it forbidden to change audience on an Activity after creation?

@liquidparasyte I don't think it's forbidden per se but platforms like Mastodon (and probably WAFRN too, since you're asking) prevent users from doing it.
My guess (but that's all it is) is that it's to prevent people from thinking that, if they made a mistake publishing something publicly, then they can just "undo" it by changing the visibility and all will be well (it's not, the data is out, there is no taking it back).

@triple I think the ideal structure I could see for Firefox could be to have a core Firefox (maybe renamed), à la Chromium, hosted by a really independent non-profit, and with all the base features, and then several forks each doing their thing, some non-profit, some for-profit, etc. Mozilla Firefox would be one of these forks (the one bloated with LLMs and suggestions). Librefox, Zen and others would be other forks. Each fork can contribute to the development of the core.
