@nova I can get it. Well most of the apps will keep working just fine on older Android versions. I suppose main issue would be for apps which aren't appreciated by companies such as Google (like NewPipe harms their ad business) or government (for protests, encryption or such). I doubt those developers would be fond of putting their identity on record to get legal troubles.
@nova Its simply because as the message states that Google wants to have a say in all kind of software that people are developing even if they aren't publishing it on Play Store. It simply gives Google a leverage to ban them easily with developer's personal identification and keys. https://keepandroidopen.org/ has a lot of information on this topic.

#Heliboard is gathering gesture typing data, so that we can implement a #FOSS alternative to the closed gesture typing library Heliboard currently relies on. The data we collect will be released under the CC BY-SA 4.0
