Happy Autistic Pride Day! :BhjFlag_Autism:
I'm currently reading 𝘚𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘈𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤 𝘑𝘰𝘺, edited by @LauraKBuzz, and I highly recommend it, especially if, like me, you're in the intersection of autistic and trans or queer.

Happy #AutisticPrideDay! ♾️💙
I’m proudly autistic, my brain works in its own unique way, full of different thoughts and feelings all at once. Being autistic is part of who I am, not something to fix. 🧠🧠
I’m also queer and genderfluid, and that’s just another part of my colorful identity. Some days I feel one way, some days another, and that’s okay. 🏳️🌈☂️
Neurodivergence and queerness make me me. Proud, authentic, and unapologetic. 🌈✨

Let's write about how amazing learning feels. About the joy of collecting. About that feeling when all the detail you've been absorbing clicks together into a breathtaking structure.
Always autistic and proud to be!

Intergender and autistic: a flag for people who are both autistic and intergender (one's gender is connected to being intersex). This flag is a complement to the intersex and autistic flag, and similar to how the intergender flag inverts the colours of the intersex flag, this one inverts the colours of the disabled intersex flag.
In the place of the usual ring is an infinity loop, a symbol used for neurodiversity and autism. The solid yellow infinity loop is for autism, and gold is frequently used for autistic designs because Au=Gold. A rainbow infinity is used for neurodiversity. (N.B. a solid white infinity is a symbol of the Métis.)

Almost forgot to say this, but happy #AutisticPrideDay everyone! :autism: :blobcatheart:
Probably a good time to chuck up these affirmations taken from Sonnny Jane Wise's ND DBT workbook. #autisticpride
> My interests are valid, and I am allowed to be excited and passionate about them even if other people aren't.
> People disagreeing with me does not mean my lived experience or my opinion are invalid.
> I am allowed to ask for reassurance and I am worthy of people's time and attention.
> I am allowed to ask questions and require certainty in order to feel safety and control.
> Some people won't like me no matter what and that is not a reflection of how likeable I am.
> I decide what thoughts to reject and let pass.
So distracted by being enraged today that I nearly missed celebrating #AutisticPride 🌈 Sending love out to all my fellow neurodiverse peeps! 💕
I’ve come to think that the reason there’s a high correlation between ND people and queer people is that we spend so much time examining our experience of the world. Once you start the work of understanding yourself, it can lead to more than you would have originally thought.
It has been a year now since I was first diagnosed with ASD and in that time, as I did in the year following my ADHD diagnosis, I’ve continued to learn more about myself.
Realising I was non-binary has obviously been one of the biggest things, but the most life-changing has been realising that showing up as I am, unmasked, can help you find your people. I am so thankful for my ADHD and autistic friends, the unshakable bonds that form between us based on our shared life experience.
It’s a journey that’s led me to a place in life where I finally feel supported, loved, and accepted for exactly who I am. One that has helped me realise that dreams feel possible with the right person.
I’m proud to be autistic, to see the world the way I do, to be the person that I am.
