If you use either #BBEdit or #SublimeText can you please tell me if it's possible to select a paragraph of text in an html file, and then do some keyboard thingy that will make a <p> and a </p> appear magically in their respective correct places, enclosing the paragraph?
Wondering how much more of my day I want to devote to looking for tech support. One thing is totally outside of my control, the other two things are #BBEdit issues that should be findable, but I can't seem to get the answers.
I even finally asked ChatGPT, and it confidently said "Yes! Here's how you do that...", then every time I'd respond with, "that menu item doesn't exist," it would say, "You're right! Let's try again...."
Meanwhile, it's sunny out. Do I really need a website?

“Do not taunt happy fun #BBEdit.” (Ok, it doesn’t say that. I imagine you may taunt freely.)
“#BBEdit is not a replacement for Preview or any other PDF tool.”
“Note that #BBEdit is still not a spreadsheet.”

How to find out what flags a package was compiled with?

@grammargirl I've had a fun journey for saving a huge amount of links for future reference.
I can't get myself to like Apple Numbers so Excel is my default & links don't save there as clickable. I found that #scrivener saves immediately as a clickable link so I shoved TONS of links and things into a giant file until it started to slow WAY down. Maybe misuse of tools?😏
I recently moved over to a #bbedit project which seems to have NO limits… well, other than you can't save graphics.
@devontechnologies It would be really neat if you would collaborate with @bbedit on a common way to specify AI chat models. Users of #BBEdit’s AI Chat Worksheets could then have the same available across both applications.
See https://www.barebones.com/support/technotes/AIWorksheetModels.html for how it’s currently done with a fairly simple JSON-based format. As an example, I’ve successfully used it to add #Perplexity to BBEdit.
Answering the blog questions challenge: While I wasn't specifically tagged (I'm not that well known), I saw Matthew Haughey do this, and figured I'd jump in. Nothing like a little narcissistic navel gazing to distract from (waves hands around expressively), right? https://michaelhans.com/eclecticism/2025/01/29/answering-the-blog-questions-challenge

@geoffduncan @bbedit The “Guide Contrast” slider in #BBEdit's Appearance settings also controls the contrast of tab stop grid lines
#BBEdit's Language Server Protocol support (https://www.barebones.com/support/bbedit/lsp-notes.html) is a godsend, but sometimes it does shoot its mouth off a bit. 🤡

@bbedit Do you need to preview #GitHub Flavored #Markdown only sometimes in #BBEdit? Install cmark-gfm from @homebrew and put the following executable shell script in BBEdit’s Preview Filters folder:
```
#!/bin/sh
set -euo pipefail
cat - | eval "$(
printf 'cmark-gfm --to html --sourcepos --validate-utf8 --smart'
for extension in $(cmark-gfm --list-extensions | tail -n +2)
do
printf -- ' --extension %s' "$extension"
done
)"
```
If I believed in fairies I might set these links out on the work bench before bed.

Man, I remember playing with #BBEdit in 1992.
Love the macro effect on your "broken" camera. XD
Yeah, I do NOT believe you, #BBEdit...
