Seahorses among the Coral Batik painting is an undersea fantasy of three delicate seahorses swimming around pink and orange staghorn coral in green and blue sea water. The batik method used allowed for the creation of texture resembling bubbles in the background. The bubble texture, combined with the swaying coral results in a painting full of life and movement.

Undersea Fantasy batik is a colorful feast for the eyes. A riot of abundant tropical fish and coral against the backdrop of a blue-green sea filled with rising water bubbles and anchored by a warm brown sandy ocean floor. Among the inhabitants of this beachy image you will find tang fish, clown fish, angel fish, a spicy red crab and a pretty purple seahorse. These sea creatures play along the sandy bottom of the ocean, swimming in and around various types of coral.

Q1. Who are you and what are you working on?

I'm a guy who just does stuff even though I have no formal training in the stuff I do. It's more fun that way...?

For over a decade I've mostly been the stay-at-home parent on Halloween, helping my kid with their costume (or making it entirely), then not having time to make one for myself, and needing to do academic work (every evening, every weekend... ugh) anyway. I've been the parent at the door giving candy to other kids. I haven't gone out in costume for over a decade.

This year I decided, come hell or high water, I was going to make myself a costume. I decided to make a wizard robe, which would also be wearable at burns (e.g., #burningman #regional events).

I took some pics (a few, at least) of the process and, for a change, actually posted them. Here is a reasonably informative build log on imgur.
