Completed another feature for my new #gardening app today - polyglot name search, so you can easily find plants in any language you speak and add them to your virtual #garden bed. The goal is to make it simple for gardeners anywhere to maintain their #gardens digital twin in their own language.
Since I'm based in Germany I'll start with EN and DE, but other languages will only be a matter of getting the translations done. 💪#buildinginpublic

My idea is to build a small tray that helps keep all the basic stuff (deck box, tokens, dice, maybe even note taking stuff) in order when playing in tournaments with not a lot of extra space.

#buildinginpublic is a fad where solo developers brag about what they are building on social media to get positive feedback. Those projects are rarely open source. It's less about collaboration and more about accountability as far as I can tell. What am I missing?

Next, they had several suggestions for the main page of the app: the Meals page.

Here you can see the current and next week's menu, shuffle and plan recipes, and marvel at some art.

It turned out, however, that
- the planned recipe's titles were too small
- the checkmark button's purpose was unclear
- the default non-food imagery felt a bit out of place

We now have, therefore: bigger titles, “mark as cooked" vs. checkmark icon and cute om noms nibbling at donuts.
