Been taking advantage of my new graphics card by getting back into #LostOdyssey (via the #Xbox360 emulator #Xenia). Upon arriving at Grand Staff it became clear how demanding certain parts of this game are at 2X resolution, even with an RTX 3060 Ti. While not the cause of the slow down, I am constantly blown away at how modern the spell animations in this game look.

After turning off the 60 FPS patch all was good and I think I'll just refrain from using that instead of toggling in on and off.

The back to back boss battles in this area are quite difficult and after getting through them I encountered the first "guaranteed crash" of the game and have to do them again. To circumvent the crash, I installed #CheatEngine for the first time to enable Save Anywhere, which I plan to use even after progressing past this part.

P.S. Apparently the character limit of mstdn.games has been increased?! Sooooo niiiiiiiice!

I just bought Borderlands 3 on sale on Steam, the game and all DLC for $25. I think it's probably worth that much.
I'll wait until I get a new laptop this Black Friday to play it.
I'm sure it would play fine in my Steam Deck but I can't use Cheat Engine. Borderlands 2 is the only game I ever used Cheat Engine for.
I changed the loot table percentages so you could actually expect to get the really good loot without grinding for days or weeks. The default for the highest rarity was some ridiculous decimal percentage with about six leading zeroes. I may be exaggerating in my memories, but it was terrible.
I still never got a Pearlescent drop.

I'd there's a reliable way to do Cheat Engine on Steam Deck, I haven't heard of it.

然后游戏又有很多白痴设定，比如在玩家刚上来手忙脚乱的时候提醒玩家「帐篷一旦放好在做出第二个之前无法再收起来噢」更让玩家慌张；在黑不隆咚地时候让玩家摸黑去找道具（这种引导能让玩家对地图留下屁印象）；玩家干任何操作（比如空挥镰刀）就能让体力值狂掉然后手上还没有任何补充道具……想说这游戏主策是亚洲爹妈吗信奉吃苦学得快（我打cozygame的tag都有点犹豫）

不过游戏画面确实让人舒服，作为像素游戏选了很清爽通透的画风看着很舒服（确实比星露谷看着更精细和现代）。

这游戏目前没有中文wiki、没有修改器、mod寥寥无几而且因为之前频繁改代码让mod无效逼得mod作者弃坑。如果要修改数据来降低难度的话还比较繁琐，要按照下面的步骤：
1. 从系统的任务管理器中查看游戏的多个进程，找到内存占用最大的那个并记下pid
2. 将PID用程序员计算器转换为十六进制
3. 打开 #cheatengine，按进程查找到十六进制PID符合的那个进程（直接用程序查找是无效的）
4. 按照2倍值检索数据并修改（比如某道具10个，要搜20才能搜到）

要提醒一下网上能搜到的 #CheatEngine CT表都是欧版（这游戏大概是因为考虑美化所以不同语言用了不同进程），要到文件目录下手动找到DQB2_EU.exe启动游戏才能让CT生效（语言设置为繁体中文的话游戏启动器会启动AS结尾的进程）；而且不知为何EU版ABXY键位和AS是反的，为了改存档进EU、改完了存好档再回AS很别扭很狼狈
（编辑补充：经过测试，可以直接把DQB2_AS.exe重命名为DQB2_EU.exe，这样就可以直接在中文语言下载入ct表了，没有任何区别。估计直接修改ct表里关于EU的字符也行，只是我不用启动器所以也无所谓了）

另外听说switch版玩到后期会卡所以推荐还是PC，而且游戏提供免费试玩版（试玩存档可以无缝迁移到正式版），据网友说试玩版就可以玩很久以至于差点忘记买正式版

衍生/旁支系列续作真的给打tag带来很大压力（
最初是想当作 #体素游戏 #minecraft 的替代品上手的（想知道genz和genalpha小孩都在玩什么但玩不懂）。上手后感觉还是挺愉快的，一口气玩了十几个小时还意犹未尽。作为 #沙盒建造 游戏有很高的自由度，但同时又有很强的主线引导，剧情设计和游戏机制的结合也很巧妙。
难度设计挺友好，没有逼人打工，正常玩家应该会玩得很舒服，不过我一向偷懒又没耐心所以还是祭出大杀器 #CheatEngine 来改道具了。

OK, #gamingOnLinux has been so much fun. I've been playing Assassins Creed Origins, and tonight I installed scanmem into a Nix-shell. I then ssh'd to my #nixos machine and remotely ran scanmem, eventually finding the right memory addresses for money and iron ore. No more alt-tabbing out and in to the game to access CheatEngine on Windows for me!

Upgrades for my character all around!

#CheatEngine, while it installed via #Lutris just fine, could not see the Proton running game via Steam, thus my attempt at the CLI app #scanmem. So glad I tried this out.

Disclaimer: only cheat on your own, single player games. No one likes cheaters online.

I like to cheat a little in some certain games, giving me a 'partial sandbox' as the result.

Basically, I give myself extra money, for example, just when I need it at a particularly difficult part, but proceed no further. Something like #CheatEngine is perfect for this.
