Just deleted my Amazon account. Embarrassed it took me so long, though I never bought much from them. Bozos won't miss my few Canadian dollars.
I'm old enough to remember a time when it wasn't possible to get everything we wanted immediately, or sometimes you just could never get things, and it was fine.

It does draw data from Amazon but you can tweak your settings to prefer other sources.

Woah! We finally had a chance recently to check the hacked #Medibank website.
Apparently the #healthInsurance company that got hacked, is #reverseProxied from #AmazonCloudFront servers. So in effect, Australian's data was "hacked" by a US entity first using #socialEngineering.
This article is over 2 years old but still relevant, and little has changed at Amazon, apart from Bezos saying he's going to give away even more of the wealth created by his underpaid and badly treated workers.
Everyday Amazon continues to persuade folk to buy crap they don't need. Stuff that's destroying the planet.
