Can someone tell the team of copywriters at DDG how does the use of "generate" feel like in this case? Or is it just me?

One thing I am really digging about #DuckDuckGo, is that their AI-powered quick answer widget actually links to sources.
That seems a no-brainer to me and I've struggled to understand why other #AIshit can't be bothered to back up their claims.
This is the path forward, me thinks. No blind trust. It is not deserved. It has not been earned.
Been able to avoid #DuckAssist up until now. Now I can hopefully continue to avoid it after immediately turning it off the second I became aware of it. C’maan, #DuckDuckGo. We know you’re not perfect but you’re supposed to be the less messy version of something that’s already deeply imperfect. Know your lane! (That lane being, “Bing but with less tracking”. Still…)
You now need to turn off #AI #enshitification in #DuckDuckGo. It's switched on by default 🙄
This is not #DuckAssist but this is a new #Chat feature provided by #DuckDuckGo.
I haven't seen any #NewsOutlets report on it yet.

If you enter a question that can be answered by Wikipedia into our search box, #DuckAssist may appear and use #AI #natural #language technology to anonymously generate a brief, #sourced #summary of what it finds in #Wikipedia — right above our regular private search results.
It’s completely free and private itself, with no sign-up required, and it’s available right now.
This is the first in a series of generative AI-assisted features we hope to roll out in the coming months. Kudos to the new new #DuckAssist feature. I like that they name the source of the training data (Wikipedia): "..it’s a public resource with a transparent editorial process that cites all the sources used in an article, you can easily trace exactly where its information is coming from."
This clearly points that AI integrations can be more transparent. At least more than the "I have been training with data from the internet" generic answer from #ChatGTP or #Sydney
