Diese Woche hat jemand gefragt, wie Menschen, die wissenschaftlich denken, derzeit die Tage überstehen. Da habe ich noch gefrotzelt. Heute hatte ich einen Nervenzusammenbruch, als ich las, dass bereits "soziale Roboter" in der Pflege eingesetzt werden.
Mich wundert das nicht, aber diese Blindheit gegenüber Ursache und Wirkung ... Wir verwirken unser Leben durch technische Errungenschaften, die uns auffressen. Auf allen Ebenen.
An unfortunate sign of the times, RAM that I got for $50 and was holding onto because I got a 64 gig kit instead earlier in the year, is now selling for $325 new ....this is absolutely insane. I feel bad for anyone buying or building a PC now.

Some months ago I decided that migrating my systems from Microsoft to a Linux OS is the next step in my quest to loosen techno-feudalism's grip on my life. Thought I'd start small with my ancient Netbook so as not to be without (read: screw up) my desktop for too long...
So, after a morning down the Linux rabbit hole, I'm facing an install (correct term?) of a tiny dispo (learning new words) that'll run on my 32-bit, 1.00 GB system. I figure, if I can make that work, migrating my newer desktop system will be a cinch.

Signal was attempted backdoored by the uk govt and was only saved by signal threatening to walk, if simplex is ever compromised or enshittified forks can be made without losing your contacts we aren't totally reliant on the official simplex relays unlike with signal
