Now I'm starting to consider it being true.

I've been struggling to find the words to express a concept in my head the last 6-12 months, but i think I've recently had the moment of truth:
By depending so heavily on #webbrowsers to do virtually everything we've collectively locked ourselves in to the web browser as our #platform . Since its basically a monopoly ( #chrome ) with a few also-rans, we've allowed ourselves to be captured and the platform (meaning the #browsers themselves as well as the #worldwideweb) has #enshitified under us.
Building new browsers from scratch is a massive undertaking so we can't even expect to get back in to the market in a meaningful sense. I'm not suggesting the #www is lost, only that the current 'lets hope and pray and make more #forks of things' approach isn't going to help.

Marked *safe* , again , for not wanting to work at anywhere connected to a E.Musk owned Oligarch #Enshitified Business.
