Il y a des flasheurs android dans l'assemblée ?
j'ai un Samsung A10 à reconditionner, il y a quoi comme ROM avec le moins de surcouche et surtout sans les outils gogole imposés (je ferai mon marché avec les gapps) ?
Finally!
Daring again to flash #heads #coreboot from #nitrokey onto my good old #thinkpad t430.
The documentation is pretty horrible, as a beginner it was really hard to find info on how the hell to assemble a #CH341a programmer?
Got it working, see on the picture.
Then running #flashrom (as root, couldnt find the udev rules to allow it rootless) to detect the chips, backup and verify the stock ROM, and write heads onto them!
De-soldering the chip was the solution, also now I need to go find some good RE tools for freeRTOS :D

Much learning happened last night concerning corrupted BIOSes and recovering them. A programmer was ordered. It was delivered this morning.
The biggest hurdle so far was that all the info I found assumed Windows, and I didn't have anything convenient to the lab with Windows on it. But I eventually discovered #flashrom for Linux and it is happily talking to the #BIOS via my #CH431A programmer and a 1.8v adapter.
Now I'm trying to find something to install on it that actually works. I tried something for this model and revision of motherboard that *should* have been the next version after what was originally on it. No joy. So now it's currently writing the backup I saved before I started this whole mess. Why I didn't think of that first...

I should give #flashrom a bit attention here in the fediverse, because it helped me repairing two graphic cards, with a soic8/sop8-clip:
One was a crashing #fake #nvidia #gt730 (in real now a #gt520, i use in a Dell r210 II and only working there thanks to legacy gpu bios). The other card is a real gt730 where I tried to rip of the uefi-bios-part, to make it work in the dell server. Didn't work, but thanks to #flashrom 1.2 self compiled on #raspberrypi, it now is working in other computers again.
Also the command "truncate -s <target-flashchip-size> <copy-of-bios-image>" in bash is very helpful to pad an original bios-image to fit to same size as the bios-chip.
You have to activate SPI-mode on raspberry and connect jumpercables as shown in the second link.
We're hosting another #opensource #firmware #hackathon at our #hackerspace @daslabor. 👩🏻💻✨ Come and join if you're interested in #coreboot, #LinuxBoot, #flashrom and other proejects. 🙂
Joined the fosstodon.org #mastodon instance today.
Quick #introduction: I'm a FOSS developer, mainly working on #sigrok (logic analyzer, oscilloscope, test&measurement software) these days.
Also a #debian developer when time permits. Previously involved in #coreboot, #flashrom, and random other projects.
I'm also making my own #creativecommons music (plus videos) as a hobby over at Youtube and ccmixter.org.
More details later, I guess.
Flashrom 1.0.
The Flashrom is associated with Coreboot project.
It is for reading/writing/erasing/verifying flash chips commonly for motherboard BIOS/UEFI/firmware chips and has reached its long-awaited v1.0 milestone.
Flash firmware images such as BIOS or coreboot, or backup an existing firmware.
