Ever since they stopped monitoring multiple different #Foodborne #Pathogens a few months ago, I have gotten regularly sick definitely it being food poisoning basically every other week. Refrigerator is totally fine. The items that I purchase are packaged and handled properly. There isn’t a single specific food item that seems to stand out in a pattern. It seems to be multiple things. Some milk was definitely bad in unopened cartons, but that’s the only thing that had some telltale signs.

Even in medieval times, before viruses were known, people knew to pasteurize their milk!

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scalded_

"Scalded milk is dairy milk that has been heated to 83 °C (181 °F). At this temperature, bacteria are killed, enzymes in the milk are destroyed, and many of the proteins are denatured."

The #health burden of #foodborne diseases (FBD) is similar to that of malaria; 90% falls on poorer countries (economic burden = $100 m/year). #Meat intake is a strong predictor of related #mortality; animal products might cause 1/3 of FBD: doi.org/10.1007/s12571-023-013 #foodsafety

R to @EFSA_EU: The number of reported #foodborne outbreaks in the EU increased by 44% from 4,005 in 2021 to 5,763 outbreaks in 2022, reaching levels similar to the pre-pandemic years.
