Over the past couple of days I've been quietly working on and adding support for a new device (OVERMAX Touch 2.6) to Gadgetbridge... and today I've seen the first tangible results! :ablobfoxbongohyper:

I waited a bit to post anything about it as I wasn't sure if I'd even be able to do it (it is my first BTLE RE project!) but while there's still stuff to be done, I've got to a point where I'm rather confident I can at least reach some basic level of support :neofox_cofe:

The watch itself isn't exactly a popular model iirc, but its companion app is not even available on the Play Store anymore (and it's rather sketchy too if you ask me) so having it supported on @gadgetbridge is already a big plus due to that!

(Btw that's my SO's smartwatch, in fact that's what made me start this project to begin with... and doing something that will help them is more than enough of a reason for me to keep going! :neofox_blep: )

Does anyone know a sleep and health tracker that is based on Europe? Open source would be nice.

I’m looking for an alternative to Oura. My ring is giving up. And I’ve given up on them. 😏

A ring, a band, even a watch could work. Although I do prefer to wear other watches, hence the ring. Ideally, it should have a battery life longer than a day.

I’m using an iPhone, otherwise anything that can run #GadgetBridge would’ve been my go-to.

Charging my Colmi P80 watch at the office while I work .. because it's regular USB-C.

Bought it from recommendaion from @Edent .. also twillding Gadgetbridge.

I was the master of losing my wallet. Now I have a phone case / wallet combo so I can always call it. Sometimes the battery ran out, so I set up #HomeAssistant to set off an alarm when the battery got to 2%, so I could call it first. I also have #GadgetBridge set up to let me call from my watch and #KdeConnect to call from my desktop / laptop.

I still lose my wallet sometimes, but my systems for finding it again are pretty robust.

Now if I can just finally convince @pine64 to make an open #Tile / #Trackr equivalent, I can stop losing my keys all the time...

Akkulaufzeit ist nach wie vor top! Gagdetbridge scheint auch problemlos zu laufen (muss das noch etwas testen). Tatsächlich liefert GB alle wichtigen Daten, sehe gerade nicht, wo es gegenüber Garmin Connect das Nachsehen hätte. Klar, da alles lokal läuft, gibt es keine "social" Funktionen und diese ominöse Berechnung des Fitnessalters ist auch nicht integriert. Bei dieser frage ich mich aber sowieso, wie das bitte funktionieren soll.

Mögliche Downside ist eventuell, dass die Gamification komplett wegfällt. Aber bisher hatte ich das auch nicht. Wäre also kein Problem, kann mir ja schlecht fehlen. Ich kann die App tatsächlich empfehlen!

#grapheneos is great, because you disable every app. Very handy with the #pebble. Do the pairing and firmware upgrade with the #pebble app, then disable it and just #gadgetbridge.

Just resurrected & connected my old Huawei GT 2 Pro via #gadgetbridge ... works like a charm. I sent it to sleep as i did not want to install proprietary software on my shiny clean #GrapheneOS . Now I can use the watch again and keep my strict #FOSS only strategy on my phone 😍

Today, my watch didn't let me enter the menu anymore. It reacted to calls and the start of the charging process. But it wouldn't go back to the home screen. I've powercycled it twice but that doesn't resolve the issue. It's connected to my phone, showing the pebble OS logo.

Any ideas how to resolve this?

So, ab heute läuft mein Test der Garmin Uhren.

Uhr 1:

Heute ist die Vivoactive 5 angekommen. Läuft soweit, allerdings ist für Softwareupdates und eine erweiterte Einrichtung Garmin Connect schon notwendig.

Die Verbindung zu Gadgetbridge funktioniert aber gut und es werden offenbar alle wichtigen Daten abgerufen. Werde das aber mal eine Woche lang testen.

Endlich meine Garmin Instinct Solar Camo Smartwatch in #GrapheneOS mit #Gadgetbridge zum laufen bekommen. Mit der Version aus dem Nightly Repository in #fdroid gehts. Unter Einstellungen noch "Nicht unterstützte Geräte finden" aktivieren. Adieu Garmin-Schnüffelapp :scremcat:

#gadgetbridge is great. #peeble and #Sony earphones connect. No stupid tracking and need for accounts. Especially the Sony app is so stupid. I love #Foss for the alternative
