#HedgeSparrow

Dunnock, aka Hedge Sparrow.

The word Dunnock derives from Middle English "Donek" or "Dunok", which was a form of Old German "doniklin"

Now for the interesting part:

"Dunnock" literally means "brownish grey".

Can't argue with that name. 🤷🏻‍♂️

A Dunnock standing on top of a wall looking down at the ground scouting for worms and insects.

Only brown and grey colours throughout the picture.

The bird takes up majority of the frame and looks very realistic. The light is zoomed in on its head with majority of the frame immersed in shade.

A dunnock or hedge-sparrow (Prunella modularis), fossicking about for food on the ground at the riverside in Stratford-upon-Avon. It was a very cold morning, but the bright sunshine made the scene look warm.
