October fruits and colors.

A single red apple in a man's hand. It is round and slightly striped variety of Jonathan apple. It has been polished somewhat. The outline of the trees and the sky is apparent in the reflection on the apple.A cluster of six crab apples. They are about 25.6-29.6 mm in diamerter, they are a red stripe color, the six stems are long and red and originate at a common point where they were picked from the tree and remain together. The individual apples have been polished slightly. They are on a bed of yellow and brown dry lombardy poplar leaves that are in the bed of a subaru brat.A false virginia creeper vine with berries. The leaves are red and the berries are blue on red stems.A Euonymus alatus bush with bright red fall colors. It also has red fruit. There is a green peach and black locust tree beyond it.

Here's some Jonathan's.

First is the shady side of the graft on the mainly Gravenstein tree, second is the sunny side of the same branch. The third pic is on the old big tree. My other old but not big Jonathan doesn't have any fruit left on it since it's outside the goose pasture so nothing to chase the squirrels away and it didn't have very many apples this year anyway.

A photo of Jonathan apples on the tree, this is the north side and mostly shaded part of this branch so the apples are light red and striped but nearly ripe. The tree is located up the hill from others so it hasn't had as cool of temperatures at night too which contributes to the lighter color.A photo of the south side of a Jonathan apple tree branch, the color is more solid but still somewhat light red. There are props holding up the weight of the branch which is full of apples. There are over 2 dozen apples in the photo.A closeup photo of two Jonathan apples, they are deeper red colored than the others on the south side of this old tree. They are growing from the same spot and each tilt away from each other and where they joint at the stems. Several apples are out of focus in the background along with the branches and leaves of the tree.
