I’m not at all hating but I can’t make sense of why #keycaps are so expensive. Is it a technically difficult process? Pigments? Tooling? Design? Expertise? Exclusivity? All of these things?

Will someone explain this to me?

They seem so expensive though. That’s a lot of duckets. I’m not complaining, or dumping on the price, I just don’t get it.

Got a new set of keycaps for my keyboard.

Not as exciting as the custom set I ordered from WASD Keyboards a few years ago, but these are "double shot", which as I understand it, means the legends will be much more durable (if I understand correctly, the letters are molded into the keys, so they will still be visible even when worn).

I can now read my letter keys! They had all worn almost completely blank on the prior keys.

Large mechanical keyboard with new key caps.

The letter and number keys are a very pale (almost white) green color with highly legible characters on them.

The others are various darker shades of green. The set was called something like "green tea".

No fancy Blender / Audacity / Ardour symbols and no Cyrillic and Greek -- but truth be told, I never used them anyway.

The stabs for the spacebar on my GMMK Pro have stopped doing stab things.

Had to switch back to my trusty Pok3r until I get the time to clean my main board...these keys feel so mushy in comparison!

Going back to cherry profile from XDA profile keycaps feels a little weird too.

Took me over an hour to clean but it's pretty again. One by one all the #keycaps where taken off and cleaned. The the #dust en #breadcrumbs blown out.
