It is a faithful rewriting (but in C++, and multi-platform) of the SMBX engine, a Super Mario Bros engine written by fans (in VB6, only for Windows). TheXTech will remain the "vanilla" version (the equivalent of Chocolate Doom for Doom), with gameplay faithful to SMBX, while the PGE engine (from the same authors) is an improved version (the equivalent of GZDoom for Doom). TheXTech comes with a very impressive demo, allowing you to play Super Mario Bros, in solo or multiplayer, with many levels, in windowed or full screen, with the keyboard or the gamepad. Excellent!

It's a neat game that offers in-game help to get started, solo/multiplayer, map editor and game save / load. Very good !

๐Ÿ“š๏ธ Alien Arena (Alien Arena: Warriors of Mars, formely CodeRED: Alien Arena) is a partially libre (free data) FPS, with a multiplayer focus (single-player against AIs is available for training purposes) on a retro-scientific theme straight out of the film Mars Attack (by Tim Burton) and with gameplay that mixes Unreal Tournament and Quake, all in commercial quality. The game is packed with graphical effects (fog, dynamic lighting, light distortion and rain effects), Doppler sound effects, Ragdolls physics, dozens of high-quality maps with or without AIs, a host of weapons, a simple lobby client, the ability to host games and a fast-paced soundtrack.
