One of the annoying things about #Linux desktops used to be that I needed to open the terminal to do mundane things that could have been done in the graphical UI. One of those mundane things was verifying checksums of downloaded files.

I was happy to see that @kde has got me covered in this aspect. The checksum verification tab in #Dolphin is useful and very cool. You can calculate and verify checksums! #KDE #LinuxDesktops

Got another #Thinkpad from my local #erecycler. An L380 Yoga, with a nice touch screen.

Decided, since it's touchy, I'd try #GNOME & #Wayland out. I've used #linuxdesktops for decades, but have generally avoided GNOME because of its rigidity. GNOME is good for touchscreens tho. Using Wayland has meant no:
- Barrier
- oneko
- guake (until i found https://github.com/Guake/guake/issues/1640)
- forwarding displays

Verdict? GNOME is pretty, extension are hit and miss. Wayland's not there yet. #KDE+#X11 still wins. 🤷

I have 2 desktops currently. One with Win10 that's older and one with Win11 that is built more towards gaming. Transferring data from my Win10 box to the Win11 box because I think I want to do a linux install on this desktop that I primarily work from.

I've been running Elementary on my laptops for a while now. Stick with Elementary for my desktop? Try out the latest Fedora? Something else? Taking suggestions before I wipe everything a few hours from now. #AskFedi #LinuxDesktops

Dismantled my LAN party basement at 7 am. Put up all of my Dell Optiplex i7 790s up for sale on CL this morning around 9 am. 22 machines running Ubuntu Mate. I am down to 6 left and I am trying to sell these before 1 PM so that I can make it to my friend's place for our Xonotic gathering. I also put up my MAME arcade.
