Now I am waiting for the floppy disks with System 4.0 and System 6.0 to arrive. And also a set of screwdrivers, because I didn't have the necessary ones to look inside. When everything arrives, I will deal with the first one, why it does not load the system, and also try to install the English version of the system on the second one.

On a #MacintoshSE, found only this pad behind the Horizontal Output Transistor. Surprised to see no paste.

What would you do when replacing the HOT? New pad? Just the pad? Pad plus paste? 🤔

(I had assumed it needs to be insulated from the heat sink so some pad still needs to be there EDIT: but if that's the case why the metal screw through it? Tricky to not make that touch at all!)

#retrocomputing isn't always fun. So far I've got an #imacg3 with a broken PSU, a #performa6200 with a broken ROM / Cache - DIMM (at least this is what the OS tells me, and this is after I paid to money to get its PSU repaired), a VIC-20 with a broken ihavenoidea. And right now I try to install OS 6 on my #MacintoshSE and it's just a pain in the a$$ to find 4 working DD-floppy-disks *sigh*
