“The golden-tipped bat is found in rainforest gullies along the eastern slopes of the Great Dividing Range and was heavily impacted during the Black Summer bushfires of 2019–20. The microbat, which weighs up to 6 grams, is highly specialised and roosts in the bottoms of bird nests made by the yellow-throated scrub wren and the brown gerygone.”

At 6am, a microbat was flying around my bedroom trying to get home for the day. It was in kinda the right place, 'home' being the bedroom walls, but the entry hole is in the exterior cladding. Eventually it found the window we'd opened and flew away.

I didn't get a photo, so here's one of the first bat that did the same thing - SD card for scale.
