Yesterday's field tests of the 20-60x60mm K&F CONCEPT monocular.
On a sturdy tripod it performs well even at maximum magnification.
It will serve for trips as a lighter substitute for binoculars. The magnification range is also just right for moon observation.

Rigging my old Kowa monocular tube for star/planet gazing. Stars are not my goal, a dot is still a dot in 60X, but it's useful for checking in on planets.

I use the same arrangement on my cameras to shoot flying birds. Works wonderfully!

Part of an old monocolular Kowa tube with a Picatinny rail glued to it. This rail is made to fasten red/green dot sights on it.

This is a red/green dot sight. It has a semitransparent mirror on which a red/green cross is projected. Correctly adjusted this cross will be at the exact middle point in the image you see trough the tube.
Since the mirror allows you to see also the sky, you can place the cross on the planet you want to look at. It makes the searching for the object extremely easy. Without it it's just frustratingly hard.

This is my improvised eyepatch. I can't find the "real" one I used years ago and the new one I ordered is delayed in shipment. Due to a sudden right eye problem that occurred Friday, now I can focus and read better now using my one good eye only. Fortunately, the issue is improving. Also, now I am thinking this improvised eyepatch is so comfortable and working so well that I may use it after my "real" eyepatch arrives.
