Seriously @microsoft, What the shit?
You roll out a NEW "better", "lighter" Teams client for everyone, and let's see here, lemme check my notes:
You offer an upgrade toggle, visible to all users, despite any existing Teams Upgrade Policy (controlled by an admin).
When people DO click it (Because they're curious, of course and it shows as available to them), it launches a product that isn't allowed to run throwing a vague error message. Causing issues for users and helpdesk staff alike.
This new version of teams is literally named "NEW Teams".
That's the best name you could come up with? Really? If you search for "New Teams", you already released a client called the "New" client years ago. Way to create more confusion.
You do random, rolling upgrades, that break existing features in clients (e.g. Outlook "New Teams Meeting" buttons that no longer work) and then ... (next bullet point)
Your own troubleshooter isn't aware that "New Teams" exists. It checks for the Windows Installer GUID (I presume) of the "Classic" client, and when it's not there, it bails. Need to troubleshoot New Teams? GFL.
The "New Teams" client doesn't use MSI, classic and well managed, it uses an MSIX which is only visible through "Apps and Features" rather than "Add / Remove Programs". (More a general headache, but yes, I know #MSIX is a thing and 'coming')
Piles upon piles of commands are basically dead (ahem, known issues) but hey, NEW CLIENT! Right guys?
Not a fan Microsoft.
I get that asking for our preferences, then doing everything you can to ignore our responses is basically your middle name but you're killing me.
