Yes, please! If the #Palama were a phone, I would have bought it long ago. To this day, I'm disappointed that they developed the right product but released it with two major flaws: #nophone function and an #outdated #Android version.

I saw John Mulaney and Pete Davidson in Providence last night. It was a #nophone show. A person called the ticket holder to make sure they understood that they needed to print out a paper ticket. There was a system of putting phones and smart watches in a magnetic sealed bag which was given back to the owner. No required proprietary apps required. It was refreshing. Good show too.

So Google successfully pillaged the phone that I bought a few years ago.

I turned on the phone this morning to listen to an audio book while I was making coffee and breakfast. Mid sentence Google turned off my phone and install a newer version of Android.

I actually went a few months without installing a newer version of Android last year into this year. I decided to upgrade for a feature that I wanted, but instead of an upgrade I got malware that will do things like this without my consent now.

Oh well. Experiencing this makes it emotionally easier to go #NoPhone, but it is quite inconvenient to have my device taken from me like that.

@sng @somarasu Voicemail screening was a fantastic discovery in late '80s. I would let the phone go thru (when I didn't have it on a BBS), listen to you pleading for your life to my machine. Go, "eh. Maybe I'll call back." go back to my book or game.

One time I called a dude up to confirm a game session, he answers his phone and is all gasping and breathy as he talks, then hear "who is it?" from his girlfriend. Dude. It's not that priority.
