Does anyone have one of these #TRMNL #eInk displays? Seems to be the only (?) simple out of the box experience for a battery-powered local wifi eink display without tinkering. 130€ is kinda hefty though...

Boox makes e-ink Android tablets for reading and sketching. I really liked the Poke3, and used it as my main ebook reader for almost 5 years, but it's showing its age and struggling with newer apps. I finally replaced it with the Go 7 Color and it's been a drastic improvement!

It's a lot faster, so it can handle today's apps, the touch screen is way more responsive, and it's so nice to have physical buttons for page turning again.

The color isn't as sharp as the black ink, and it tends toward pastels, but it's good for diagrams , and for using apps/websites that assume you have a color display.

Two tablet devices, both with paper-like displays, both displaying a double-row of book covers. The first is a little shorter and wider than a mass-market paperback, and shows the book covers in black and grayscale. The second is a bit larger all around, plus it has a wider border on the right edge with a pair of buttons arranged vertically. It's also displaying its collection in color, if not very bright color.

An official firmware update has B0rked my daily use ereader and I am SUPER PISSED OFF.

Apparently there will be a fix - but ! - no one official is confirming this or saying *when* it's going to roll out.

I just installed FtpClient from Fdroid on my Supernote tablet, which means I can fully write a blog post and post it without touching my laptop. And then check it on the EinkBro web browser. That's pretty sweet.
