New drive arrived, and I finally got time to replace the clicking one on the degraded pool
Everything seems to resilver fine so far, super happy about the smooth experience !

Just upgraded my OpenMediaVault NAS from OMV 7 (based on Debian Bookworm) to 8 (based on Debian Trixie).
Went smooth as butter just login via ssh and
sudo -s
apt update
omv-upgrade
omv-release-upgrade
reboot now
#Jellyfin causes restarts of my #OMV with my moderate (ca. 22000 tracks) music library, so I’m giving another go to #Navidrome
There are some very promising iOS clients since the last time I tried Navidrome!
Both pools are degraded now, great...
Alpha is resilvering, so all good
Beta's clicking drive finally gave enough checksum errors to be considered degraded, and a replacement has been ordered, it's a patience game

After yesterday's network incident, the NAS decided to give out today.
OMV mysteriously disappeared, after a reboot in hope to get it back, one drive of my media pool disapeared along, and now no raid array wants to come back up...
Currently reinstalling OMV 7, hopping I can reimport everything without losing data...

OpenMediaVault 8 - hier ein kurzer Rundgang. Installiert auf einem Raspberry Pi 4 mit 4 GB auf USB-Stick, zweiter USB-Stick plus microSD-Karte zusätzlich.
OpenMediaVault 8 ist erschienen! Grundlage jetzt auf Debian 13/Trixie.
Scheint merklich flotter geworden zu sein, muss ich aber jetzt erst einmal testen.
Gerade auf meinem Raspberry Pi 4 installiert.

I should have moved to #TrueNAS AGES ago...
On #OMV or #UnRAID I struggle to actually get over 1Gbps write speeds on rust drives despite having a Mellanox3 on both machines.
Right now I'm writing to TrueNAS at what is essentially drive speed (just saw 166MB/s), and it's not faster because it's a single-transfer situation being dealt with by #Syncthing (direct connection, though), which also has overhead from hashing going on.
Installing apps on TrueNAS is atrocious when compared to plain Docker Compose, though. The amount of permission errors alone is exhausting to deal with. Though I'm getting used to it.
