There are very few choices of online translation services that offer translations from and into #Tagalog (sometimes listed as #Filipino even though they are not exactly the same).
How few? #Bing and #Google are the go to online translation services; and that's about it. Popular neural translation services like Naver Papago, DeepL, and Reverso, are yet to offer Tagalog and Filipino translations.
However, there is one that is actually doing it better than Bing and Google, that is Yandex Translation — https://translate.yandex.com.
* Translating Tagalog into another language.
So far, my only gripe is that Yandex translates it into past tense. It appears that Yandex still doesn't understand the Tagalog tenses in this translation direction (it does understand tenses when translating into Tagalog).
If you don't understand Tagalog, you also will not notice the tense was changed because the translation into your own language is correct as far as past tense is concerned.
* Translating another language into Tagalog.
This one is good. At least based on what I have tested, tenses were preserved. Depending on the source language, the choice of words might be weird, but it makes sense regardless, from a native Tagalog speaker (maybe not for someone learning Tagalog, or Filipino).

While running earlier today, I saw a signboard in #Manila, #Philippines that says:
“Manila Korea Town” and it was written in Korean as: “마닐라 코리아 타운”.
My question is, why were “Korea” and “town” transliterated?
I checked #Naver #Papago, and it gives the same result.
Should it not be: “마닐라 한국 도시” or “마닐라 한국동네”?
(This is what #language apps doesn't have, the ability to ask questions; and I have a lot of questions re: Korean language.)
I tested the #Reverso neural translation this week and last week thoroughly, and wow, I haven't heard a single complaint from the people I replied to, and they understood my replies well.

There are other languages available, but I prefer using the ones created by those who speak it as their first language. For example:

Huh, I'll intermittently use Gboard's voice to text in Hangul mode (#Korean) and get frustrated by the results, sometimes even seeing what I mean to say get replaced with a bad autocorrect version.
Just tried the native voice input for #Papago and what I said was what ended up on the screen. It was pretty gratifying.

Try Papago ( https://papago.naver.com ). Most of the time they have a better translation than Google or Bing. Also, translating back to Korean or Japanese is better.
No, I don't work for them. I'm just very satisfied with #Papago (and want to share it) than what the two giants offer when it comes to Asian language translations.
