Partial solar eclipse 29th March 2025 as seen from Iceland.

A black and white picture of a partial solar eclipse. At the bottom of the picture is a top of a snowy mountain.Partial solar eclipsePartial solar eclipse that looks like a yellow glowing smilePartial solar eclipse. Some clouds are also in front of the sun. A small sunspot can be seen.

While it was hard to see, if not impossible to see it with the naked eye, not that you should look straight into the sun, I took this shot using welding glasses:

Got up early yesterday to see the partial solar eclipse from Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. It was only visible for about 15 minutes through a narrow cloud window. Well worth it! #photography #partialeclipse #solareclipse #solareclipse2025 #partialeclipse2025 #landscape #seascape #EastCoastKin

Here are a couple of my partial solar eclipse shots, taken with a fair amount of cloud cover. I’m pretty happy with the results, considering that I only used a relatively cheap Baader solar filter on my telescope and the weather conditions. The equipment I used is in the alt text.

A zoomed in photo of the sun taken during the March 2025 partial solar eclipse. The background is black, the sun is a warm white, with the moon cutting a large chunk out of the top of the sun. It’s possible to make out a large sun spot on the top left of the sun and the jagged edge of the moon. Taken with an astro-modded Canon 700D camera, attached to my Skywatcher 72ED telescope with Baader solar film, on a static mount.A zoomed in photo of the sun taken during the March 2025 partial solar eclipse. An ‘arty’ shot, the sun with the moon just cutting into the top right, is just visible though the clouds. Going out in the middle of rush hour just to see if maybe sun peeked from behind the clouds, and sharing the sun-seeing-window with as excited strangers? Couldn’t be me (it was me).

I got the welding glass piece years ago from a physics teacher who rekindled my love for mathematics, science, astronomy, who taught me about radio communication and how to distinguish stars from planets in the sky. I hope he is well.

Partial Solar Eclipse – A Celestial Spectacle! 🌘✨
A breathtaking moment—watching the Moon partially cover the Sun, veiled by dramatic clouds. Nature’s way of reminding us how fleeting and mesmerizing these cosmic events are.

Missed partial celestial shenanigans just now because a) I was in work running around inside b) I live in Ireland. #PartialEclipse #Sun

the dark silhouettes of still leafless trees and hedges.

@helenczerski Neighbours appreciated seeing the pinhole projection but explained to us that this juxtaposition has delayed Eid! #Ramadan #partialeclipse

I can't capture the sun with my phone... But the lens flare looks great. #PartialEclipse

A partial eclipse is happening right now and so, I went outside at sunrise, with my eclipse glasses and, welp! This was my view. Arrow for emphasis.

Picture of the sky with a wide band of cloud cover just where the sun would be, so I can’t see the eclipse at all. I drew an arrow to point where the sun should be.
