Got my glasses prescription updated and debating options. I work in a place with fluorescent light most of the day. I'm fairly photosensitive and have frequent headaches and occasional migraines.
I've had two pairs of transitions, convenient but neither as good as sunglasses of course.
So options I'm looking at are new transitions (maybe Xtractive?). FL-41s, or the classic 1 regular and 1 sunglasses pair. Thoughts/experiences appreciated.
Last night, I tried to watch A New Hope for the first time in decades. Within the first five minutes, the flashing lights triggered a #migraine (not the laser fire itself, but the way the screen periodically went white when there was a hit).
The last time I watched Star Wars was on DVD and I don't remember this. Is it something to do with the upscaling? Disney Plus? My own device?
If it's part of the film, I'm really confused why there's no warning for #photosensitive viewers at the beginning.
Would really appreciate my fellow #disabled peeps helping me out with this one, because I'd like to watch Star Wars again.
Strobe lights are one of the largest banes of my existence. It’s difficult, and personally embarrassing, to be a highly sensitive jam band fan. #phish #highlysensitive #highlysensitiveperson #photosensitive #photosensitivity

If anyone reading this has clinical (or other) experience with photosensitive epilepsy and would like to help me out, please could you watch this video and let me know whether it needs a warning? There are no actual strobe effects, but there are things that briefly flash onto the screen and disappear a few times.
Many thanks in advance for any help you can offer!

If you are #photosensitive (or just hate strobing graphics!) you can install Laura's Chrome Extension PhotosensitivityPal here to automatically flag GIFs: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/photosensitivitypal/jfbeiilmcgaofgkhkbdepkafoikbmklh?pli=1
This #inking from a #jello #photosensitive #paper is also very impressive!

Why Apple Vision Pro constantly strobing matters to your health
Apple Vision Pro is constantly flashing the user. It's not as obvious as a strobe light at a rave or party, but it is happening constantly. There are three main types of health impacts from strobing lights — flicker vertigo, photosensitive epilepsy, and general photosensitivity.

We're watching all of #StrangerThings again from the beginning. It's a brilliant program and we loved all of it but I REALLY HATE its use of flashing images. Some of the best scenes are ruined for me because I just can't bear to watch them though the extreme flashing. It makes me very uncomfortable. I certainly don't think the scenes would be suitable for anyone who has #photosensitive #epilepsy. Such a shame. All down to a bad production decision.
FYI- there’s an #iOS17 final #concept #video being shared
If you’re #PhotoSensitive, experience #epilepsy-like symptoms because of #flashing, #suffer from #vertigo or have concerns about similar #triggers, then you might want to give it a pass

@jordan
I might be. 🤔 But the sight of #blood makes me faint, so i haven't fed in decades. Which probably explains me being so pale and #anemic. And the dermatologist did say I need to use sunblock even while indoors under artificial light (nah, I don't do it), and to avoid sun exposure (lest I get fried). #photosensitive #vampire #ImKiddingOfCourse 🤪
