I can recommend viewing entire presentation at slideplayer.com/slide/7269008/, where you can see also routing on #PDA like #PalmOS #WindowsCE or #PocketPC , quite nostalgic

Demo version of the game. For saving. It remains only to hope that the developer will come to his senses and publish the full version. The developer is from Yekaterinburg)))

The developer provides the opportunity to get acquainted with his works. The tank simulator requires registration. We bring him our deep gratitude.

Here is an interesting article that I came across that covers several #PDA cameras from the early 2000s.

It's an interesting look into the rapidly evolving market of digital cameras of the time. It also has some fantastic comparison shots between the different cameras.

@nazokiyoubinbou Well, there is a 1 KB CUE file, but I doubt it contains any necessary audio.

I bet you'll never guess that this is #PocketPC related. 😁

I bought a SDIO camera for my Pocket PCs and the only copy of the software that I could find was in BIN CUE format, but as far as I know it's just a simple installer to send the drivers to my Pocket PC.

Kicker. Looks like it's for WinCE. Controls, action menus are called only by physical buttons.

I'm pre-cropping some wallpaper/ backgrounds for my PocketPCs with VGA screens.

I cropped them at 480x640 but then realized that the Start bar and bottom bar overlay and block the full image. Irritating...

I want to pre-crop them. 480 is obviously correct for X and I'm assuming Y will probably be a resolution of less than 600ish?

I'm gonna have to toy around and see if I can nail the exact resolution of the viewing area.

Three images detailing the issues with setting an image as wallpaper on a PocketPC.

Picture 1 shows the full 480x640 image.

Picture 2 shows that you have to select an area to be displayed because...

In picture 3 we see that the top Startbar and bottom bar are overlayed on top of the image thus blocking out parts of it.

Some basic but interesting differences between #PocketPC #WindowsMobile devices.

This shows how the #Dell Axim has different image icons compared to the #iPaq.

More info is in the image description of each one.

#PDA #WindowsCE #RetroComputing #Handheld #Handhelds

The Dell Axim X50V is running Windows Mobile 4 also known as 2003 Second Edition.

The VGA screen is beautiful but unfortunately the image icons don't really help to tell the user what the file is without having them named the way that I do.

Jpeg appears to show an Amiga boing ball and PNG, BMP and Gif are all represented by the same icon of colored shapes. The Dell Axim X51V is running Windows Mobile 5. A big OS upgrade over WM 4.0.

The VGA screen is once again beautiful but unfortunately not much has changed.

It appears the Amiga boing ball has been replaced with someone surfing or perhaps a sail boat but for images other than jpeg, they are all represented by the same icon of shapes. The iPaq HX2795b is similar to the Axim X51V in that they both run Windows Mobile 5.0. The iPaq does not have a VGA screen however.

Looking at the image icons we can see a huge improvement over the Dell Axim.

Every image type is represented by a uniquely descriptive icon. BMP = Blue, GIF = Green, PNG = Purple and JPEG = Red.

I wish the Axim had these icons...Last but not least is the iPaq 210. This one is running Windows Mobile 6.0 and has a beautiful VGA screen.

It also retains the icons of the previous iPaq.

Every image type is represented by a uniquely descriptive icon. BMP = Blue, GIF = Green, PNG = Purple and JPEG = Red.

I wonder if this was a change unique to the iPaqs?

Very interesting animation when starting the game. The ball breaks through the screen of your PDA, it's impressive. The 3D component is not bad, but the graphics themselves could have been made more attractive. On a real device, playing this is very inconvenient and greatly damages the screen of the device. On a PC emulator, playing this is incredibly enjoyable.😋

I won’t argue with results. It works & I love it, but why does it work?

Even though it supports HID it is still transmitting it over #Bluetooth LE and should not be compatible with a Classic Bluetooth #PDA. Whats going on here?

Looking up only the second line from the chip give us a different Cypress data sheet that lists Bluetooth 3.0!

Does this #Keyboard have a 2 in 1 chip? Both Classic and BLE for ultimate compatibility?

A shot from a different angle of the small rectangular circuit board inside the keyboard. Its mostly blue and yellow and has a close up of the Bluetooth chip.

I can’t believe it! Goal achieved.

The Arteck is a new easily obtainable & affordable #Keyboard. It connects to every persistent #WindowsMobile #PocketPC device that I tested! It’s driverless and the layout is almost perfect for it’s size. It’s also backlit!

I’m confused though. It’s #Bluetooth LE 5.1 and should not work with these Bluetooth Classic 1.2 and 2.0 devices. Whats going on here?

Lets crack it open and take a look.

4 of my iPaqs and my Dell Axim X51V fanned out around the keyboard. In the middle of them sits the Arteck keyboard. It is hard plastic and black in color. It has white lettering for the keys. The Dell Axim has Word Mobile loaded up.My iPaq 210 displaying the connection status or the Arteck keyboard. It confirms that it is a Bluetooth 5.1 keyboard operating under the HID profile. The Dell Axim X51V has Word Mobile loaded up and it reads: It’s a Keyboard Bonanza! And then proceeds to detail what we covered in the earlier posts.

Now the best for last! The Arteck HB030B #Bluetooth #Keyboard.

This is a cheap keyboard that you can still find new. It has a chiclet design, is backlit & doesn’t compromise much on the layout other than messing a bit with the Alt, Ctrl and Windows key button arrangement.

Amazingly this Bluetooth 5.1 keyboard connects to all of my iPaqs (111, 210, HX2495, HX2795b) & my #Dell Axim X51V using Passkey 1234!

This is the #Ipad Kensington Key Folio Pro K39357US.

This #Bluetooth chiclet #Keyboard is fantastic! It is sleek, responsive and feels modern. It also has a decent layout and doesn’t forget the right shift key like the previous Key Folio.

Once again it effortlessly connected to all of my iPaqs (111, 210, HX2495, HX2795b) and surprisingly also connected to my #Dell Axim X51V using Passkey 1234!

Next up is the #Ipad Kensington Key Folio K39294.

It’s a #Bluetooth 2.0 spill proof rubber covered #Keyboard that drove me crazy due to the right shift key being absent. LOL.

It’s connectivity was identical to the Freedom Pro. It easily connected to all of my iPaqs (111, 210, HX2495, HX2795b) and unfortunately refused to connect to any of my #Dell Axim X50 and X51 series.

First up is the Freedom Pro #Bluetooth #Keyboard.

This keyboard folds in half and has a slide out removable stand for your #PDA.

I didn’t like it. It was probably decent for the time but we can do much better these days.

Regardless, it easily connected to all of my iPaqs (111, 210, HX2495, HX2795b) and unfortunately refused to connect to any of my #Dell Axim X50 and X51 series.
