Love going outside right after it rains. All the little critters come out to explore!

Met two friends today, a and a .

Relatively, we're all small.

A fuzzy orange caterpillar explores a damp leaf.A potato bug chills on a branch. Will he head downwards, to the brown lichen, or upwards, to the moss on the branch's top side? We'll never know.Sunlight on wet maple leaves. Gorgeous.Foxgloves being all kinda extra. Showoffs.

First #isopod of the year. (or #woodlouse, #pillbug, #rollypolly, #potatobug, #doodlebug, whatever) I guess it's time to stop putting dried worms in the bird feeders. Can't compete with nature.

ollie met his first potato bug today and he was not happy, did not like it at all - much barking and stamping.
which was pretty much how i reacted the first time I saw one of these inch and a half long nightmarish critters.

psa: no potato bugs were harmed in the production of this toot.

Despite its name, the Jerusalem Cricket is not a true cricket and is not native to Jerusalem.
