@ai6yr I've seen advertising for a turnkey business which was a propane tank recycling operation on a trailer that you were supposed to take around to campsites on Monday mornings. I think you were supposed to collect money from the campsite and get money for the metal and propane.
The trailer had machinery for sucking the last of the propane out of one pound bottles and then puncturing and flattening them.

Does it matter which way this thing is facing with respect to the heater?

These are both sides of the inside of a union. It will have a 3/8" nipple on both ends no matter which way it faces. One of the two nipples will be screwed into the heater cabinet.

Shoutout to the dude at ACE Hardware and all retail workers like him everywhere.

He saw me staring at the wrong aisle with an instruction manual in my hand and a dumb look on my face, and asked if I needed help finding anything; and I was like, "Yeah, everything according to this diagram," and I showed it to him and told him exactly how much I could afford. I didn't time it; it was not an hour but it was at least half an hour, I'd say. He figured out exactly what parts went with what other parts in order to both match all of the specs and keep it under the specified dollar amount including tax.

This was to do with propane, if you're wondering, which is something I've never done before, and something I would really hate to get wrong for obvious reasons. Everything I know about propane as of writing, I learned from that dude earlier today.

You will never find a Black Friday deal on anything that is worth more than that.

Some say she swam over the ocean and up the creeks of Rabun County, only to get stuck in my front yard. Others say it’s just an old gas line, but I know better because Appalachia keeps its legends alive in strange ways. I learned from the best: my grandfather.

For now, Nessie’s keeping watch on the bungalow waiting for the next chapter of this renovation or until I figure out how to remove it without blowing up the house.
