A group of Backlice (genus Clematoscenea) spotted at Kranji Marshes, Singapore on 31 Oct 2024. Looks more colourful than the usual barklice.

This is a member of Psocodea, which includes bark lice and book lice! I don't know anything about this order, so that's as narrow as the ID is getting.

Dorsal shot of a Psocodea centred with its antennae (approximately double body length) stretched out to either side, standing on a tree trunk

Today in extremely small arthropods, what I think might be Lepinotus reticulatus, a reticulate-winged booklouse. Maybe 1 mm in length, but fast and hard to photograph. And kind of cute. Found inside one of my insect hotels. #insect #nature #entomology #Psocodea

Shiny brown insect with yellow abdomen, long antennae, and bulging black eyes.
