Я, наконец-то, стёр #Ubuntu и поставил #Mint
На это ушёл целый день и продолжалось всё это до позднего вечера
А пришлось мне это сделать потому, что я ненавижу, ненавижу, ненавижу эти вредные #Snap пакеты. Они меня достали: #Ardour и #qTractor, поставленные из Ubuntu #Store, В УПОР НЕ ВИДЯТ плагинов из репы #kxaudio . Это так бесило, что хотелось орать, и, разумеется, это был бы крик вопиющего в пустыне, потому, что мне никто так и не помог разобраться с этим, но, кажется, я понял, в чем было дело: видимо, различные методы установки программ в #Linux сделаны по принципу тусовочки, а панки ненавидят хиппи, вы ж знаете... У меня аж до того доходило, что архиватор, поставленный через #flatpak , тупо не видел ничего, кроме моей домашней папки!! Что ж, прощай, Убун', мне было неприятно с тобой...

Running 48 KHz and a 128 buffer size with FireWire was quite a challenge back then. Not only to get your system there but also to keep it there!
I was running #Qtractor at the time with some bounced tracks but my live vocals were routed through Qtractor to add some compression and reverb. And I used some soft synths plugins coupled with an Akai MPK Mini.

Is it just me or #QTractor is among the best DAWs? Everyone's using #LMMS for midi under #Linux, but I feel that QTractor is more flexible. It supports almost all kinds of plugin formats for one.
To get it running, you need to run the jack server (qjackctl) & Qsynth softsynth prior. Then create a new midi track, select an instrument, and create a new clip on it. Draw some (random?) midi notes in it. Hit play.

@hearsepileup - While not subscription based, I have found that the Linux version of #Reaper is the best DAW to use (as a bonus, it handles Windows plugins run via yawbridge really wonderfully). Another option that works very well in Linux is #Ardour, but it is not nearly as intuitive. Finally, there is #QTractor, which I like quite a bit, but it is not as robust as Reaper and Ardour.
