I just realized my #RaspberryPi2 and #RaspberryPi3B are 10 and 7 years old.
No wonder they were struggling haha. Time to find new uses for them. Thinking one will continue as #Kodi box just for the #RV I just want to find an elegant way to add it to the #TV. For the other I've tried it as a #HomeAssistant server but, I am thinking it is time to try and set up a #NAS. Wish me luck!

NO WAY I can easily use the lame Raspberry Pi 3B I have to EASILY remote access my laptop!?!?!??! PIKVM omg (found through LTT video!!) Says it's super resource-non-intensive, which should mean great things for something with less than a gigabyte of RAM!
And the OS of the connected machine doesn't matter, so I could fool around with whatever Linux distributions while at school or work. Just might not be able to power on/off without buying extra stuff that could be incompatible with my board's case...

My BSDonPis is running clusterized CouchDB now. The next thing that I need to do is to make the query accessible through my server's API. So, I can push IoT node's data to this database from everywhere. For the sake of research fund 😊

note: This is my first time running CouchDB, therefore I need to learn how this db works.

Day 1: Got #elasticsearch, #kibana and #logstash configured properly and talking well between each other on the #raspberrypi4b.

Next step: configure the #raspberrypi3b as the default fleet server.

Decided to deploy a SIEM for my home network and settled on a #raspberrypi4b to run an Elastic Stack and a #raspberrypi3b to run as the default fleet server that all agents will connect to.

Here’s hoping it all runs about 80% as smooth as I think it will🤞😂

So the #PyGame v2 to which I updated via PyPi on my #RaspberryPi3B+ doesn’t contain all the modules. I’m finding this out module by module as I follow along with a tutorial. (Grumpy face emoji)

Estic molt satisfet de com funciona tot plegat. La tasca de la #RaspberryPI3B torna a ser, només, fer de servidor #DNS, tant intern com extern, per els dispositius de la xarxa de casa. Es nota força la diferència respecte a un servidor DNS extern, més rapid resolen IPs.
En la #RaspberryPI4B hi tinc un servidor #Mastodon i un #Pleroma, dos fitxers #Bash respectius envien automàticament la IP pública al servidor DNS de mastodont.cat per a actualitzar el registre A de cada un dels dos subdominis.

Ara que porto dies fent anar #Pleroma en una #RaspberryPI3B+ i anys administrant aquest servidor #Mastodon tinc clar que si vols tenir un servidor social on es puguin registrar milers d'usuaris l'elecció és Mastodon. Si per el contrari vols gaudir d'absoluta #sobirania fediversal i tens una Raspberry a casa, instal·la-hi Pleroma on seràs l'únic admin i usuari a l'hora.

Rugged Cyberdeck Makes the Case for Keeping Things Water-Tight

Many people build cyberdecks just for the heck of it, and there's nothing wrong with that at all. On the other hand, [cyzoonic]'s rugged 'deck is a bit more purpose-built. In this instance, the purpose is software-defined radio.

Underneath those sweet custom-cut panels lies a Raspberry Pi 3B and a BOM full of parts that can be had on Ali Express. There's also an ESP32 that takes input from the keypad plus the 5 buttons that control the display, and the two potentiometers. [cyzoonic] can dial in frequencies with the knobs, or by punching in digits on the keypad.

One of the problems with using a Pelican case is this -- how do you install any type of panel without compromising the case's water-tightness? [cyzoonic] mentions in the comments that Pelican makes a bracket that allows for panels and things to be screwed down without breaching the case. But in this case, [cyzoonic] made their own brackets in a similar fashion.

Another problem with Pelican cases (and cyberdecks in general that are built into hinged boxen) is something that doesn't get enough attention: typing ergonomics. Personally, we take comfortable and ergonomic typing fairly seriously, and would love to see a cyberdeck that speaks to this issue.

In the meantime, we'll have to take [cyzoonic]'s word that while it's not terribly comfortable to type with the 'deck on a tabletop, sitting on the floor hunched over the thing like a true hacker is much better. This is a work in progress (at least the IO project anyway), so we'll be tuning back in occasionally to see if any more instructions appear.

Speaking of ergonomic cyberdecks, here's the one that drew the line in the sand for us -- [Tinfoil_Haberdashery]'s lovely ErgoDox-based NUC machine.

Die kleinen Freuden eines #Linux - Nutzers (16 Jahre Anwendung): Updaten eines #raspberrypi3b per #ssh (zum ersten Mal). Der Raspi wurde letztens durch einen #raspberrypi4 ausgetauscht (Verwendung: Bringe das smart zum TV) und wartet auf die Anschlussverwendung (Plan: #Wetterstation).
