I took Dad home from visiting Mum yesterday and we dropped into the supermarket on the way, which meant this morning I was free to do whatever I wanted, hooray!

I went into town early and parked up so I could walk everywhere I needed to go :

- the markets (apricots!! still there until the end of the month, according to the growers)

- the wholefood store (star anise, cloves, cinnamon and chia seeds)

- the music shop (valve oil for the trumpet, and asked the owner - a tuba player, who gave advice on cleaning the trumpet - if he knew anyone who gave lessons; he does, and I left my name and number)

- the op shop (for singlets, but there were none)

- and the health food store (shampoo bars)

I had to run a parcel to the post office for Dad, which involved a lengthy process of filling in a customs declaration, so annoying. Then I drove round to the animal feed store for chook pellets and dropped into another op shop on the way home -- and this one had singlets! I got three, plus three tshirts for Kid4.

Dad and I picked the last of his rhubarb yesterday so now I need to cook it... I might make a cake with some of it. And I've still got plums to stew. Both of those things may have to wait if I want to avoid a 'you did too much' headache later, though.

Still happy that I ticked all the things off my list in a couple of hours, and I got to chat to friendly folk and feel welcomed in my community. A good day :)

I'm staying at the #place where I am #today for a few weeks. There are so many street sellers nearby and I've found HDMI cables, old-school audio cables, various USB drives and devices...

Yesterday my mouse started going crazy so I went out on the street and quickly found a seller with a box of them. I figured there was a good chance a mouse I bought that way wouldn't function but the price was very low so I chose one to see what would happen. It works perfectly! It's super smooth and it even has a cool color LED strip. Score!

It's so fucking sad that someone who literally saves around a year to buy its first used MacBook...

...ends up with a MacBook that just the next day gets Remote Management Locked for an Brazilian company that ceased to exist two years ago.

First lesson always: Check iCloud, check Remote Management. If it has any of these, don't but, it's a paperweight.

All i can say after setup is that this will radically change my phone use and habits! I will try to use this new device differently than stock android ones. Minimalistic will be the key here....maybe...

Good to know that secondhand market is live and well with these devices. Bought mine on ebay. Its a fairphone after all. If battery is busted change it!

“Entre discussões e prática, o workshop vai explorar a referenciação na música como exercício natural de criação em intersecção com outras expressões artísticas e culturais. Teremos como objetivo rever a moral em torno do sample e atualizar o sentido de originalidade inventado pelo sistema. Para isso, vamos debater conteúdos e referências e ainda experimentar o sampling com ajuda de sites e softwares de música.”

Aconselhamos vivamente a trazerem a vossa ferramenta de trabalho, seja computador, tablet ou uma caneta papel, tudo vale. Serão disponibilizados softwares e faremos experiências em conjunto, só vem!
