OK, it's finally finally up. currently #gcc , #coreutils , plus some support libraries, as a proof of concept. For those who don't know, FractalKit is an in-progress collection of modern packages built for #Solaris 10 #SPARC, and they may work on #Solaris 11 also. They can be downloaded at https://highenergymagic.net/fractalkit/ - please let us know if there are any bugs, issues, what have you.
I got hold of these gems a while ago :-) no screen but with vga converter cable.
I think I'm going in the direction of NetBSD
Suggestions on possible projects?
Final challenge for the weekend ... trying to resurrect the good old Blade 2000. Sans CPU/RAM/HD right now.
Some period correct photography ... 1999 digicam imaging a shelf with a Sun assortment.
Is there anyone in #Australia or #NZ, or who would be willing to ship to NZ, who could donate a #SPARC #Solaris (sun4u/sun4v) machine to the building effort for FractalKit? We're running up against some limits and some really bad time sinks, doing all of this on a 650MHz #UltraSPARC IIe is.... really really painful. We know this is a long shot, but if anyone out there has a machine they could donate to this we would be immensely thankful. This porting effort is really important to us but it's not going to be actually useful if a single library takes a day to compile. If you can't help, then please boost? @SolarisDiaspora

Still wanna see someone mad make a desktop motherboard for these easy to acquire #SPARC CPU's so we can have fun with this ISA at a non scalper price...
A new favourite MiniTower Sun? ... Naah, this will stay the U10 - but the Blade 1500 is a compelling option, especially when comparing performance.
Slowly getting nearer to maxing out my SPARCstation 10 RAM. Now 6x 64MB - 2 to go ..
After a little bit of experimentation, I've put together a smaller ISO for Tribblix SPARC m32 that might fit onto an actual CDROM. (It's just under 700MB.) This involved minimal shuffling, but means that the X11 packages are no longer on the ISO and would need to be pulled from the repo. Currently experimental.

Awesome work!
Who remembers the #Sparc firmware font?
Loving the days when I get the IPX Up and running (scheduled function test any 6 months)
