I got hold of these gems a while ago :-) no screen but with vga converter cable.

I think I'm going in the direction of NetBSD

Suggestions on possible projects?

Doing some work here today, and needed a hat, so dug through the pile and pulled out this one. Dating myself...

#SunMicrosystem #OldTech

A top view of a ballcap, sitting on a desk. The hat part is a dark blue, while the bill is a brown suede, with many equally-spaced sewed lines on it.

On the hat itself is a embroidered emblem for Java, showing the word in red, and the symbol of a white coffee cup and saucer, with red steam going up.

Got this for some event, can't remember where or when.A back view of the same hat, with the name "SUN Microsystems" embroidered, and their emblem, which was various stacked "U" shapes, that spell out "SUN" in every direction. It is tipped into a diamond shape.

On that same pallet was this #1U #SunServer in that legendary color with white lettering. All intact, but worse for wear (a little beat up).

Looks as there may have been some cards installed in this server that was removed, since the cover plate is removed.

Visiting an #ewaste facility what did I find but these two #sparctember #suntember devices! One even has the #oracle #sunOracle logo on it.

I wish I could have taken better & more photos, written down the details of these but I was pressed for time last night – and was on a mission.

First was this Sun “blade’ SAS controller

My second #suntember post is this #SunMicrosystems #Sparcstation model 47 service code 4/50 #development case. Yes, you read that label right: "not for customer use"! This would normally have a #sparc processor in it, so worthy of #sparctember as well.

This is how I found the case, on the curb in #siliconvalley #sillyvalley a few years ago during spring cleaning week. I ended up trading this someone in the #vintagecomputing community at #vcfw for a #lenovo #thinkpad, #dockingStation, and some other accessories. I know they will enjoy the case more than I was, sitting in my garage unused & unseen.

Hey @aka_pugs what can you share about this find?

My first post for #suntember is this #SunMicrosystems #Developer connection beanbag. I picked this up via #freecycle from a prior #Sun employee who scored it at a #java #developers conference of theirs. It is in almost perfect condition but for two spots on the bottom of the beanbag, near the zipper. I ended up gifting this to an individual in the #vintagecomputing community a couple of weeks ago at #vcfw.

I know they will enjoy it more than I was, sitting in my garage unused.

Whoa, I just realized it is #suntember !!

Time to start posting & tagging your #sunmicrosystems #sunmicrosystemsinc #sunmicrosystem finds from last year, or just repost what you posted last year 😁

This was the entry which I co-authored. I actually didn't do much work on it, but years later another co-author accused me of inventing Internet E-commerce. 1990!
