Stryd's predictions are pretty spot on here.
@Lee6 I used Stryd when I started running to understand the “hills.” Running up the hill at the same pace and not bursting into tears because I was so slow! It really helped. Now, especially when running normally, it doesn't benefit me, especially since most watches simulate the values quite well these days. Actually, I'm annoyed that I spent so much money on it, and I only use it occasionally on the treadmill.
But you know, I'm just a casual runner.
After I got sick on October 5th and could not run the #Cologne #Marathon, I completed the Marathon of the Ring #Running Series at the #Hockenheimring today and ran personal best time (which has been 3:56:56 before).

TIL #coffee lord and savior James Hoffmann is running and training with the #Stryd power meter.
Kick ass James! Welcome to the nerd side of #running!

Today marks an important milestone in my preparation for the #Cologne #Marathon.
I accomplished both the last training run beyond 30km and the week with the longest total distance: 33km today and 73km in total. At the same time my body is quite sore after 3 very hard weeks incl. a half marathon race.
⚠️👉🏻 As my uncle (experienced runner) said: "Now is the time where you have to run with your head, not with your feet."

I'm trying to understand the hesitation many runners have towards #running power, especially #Stryd.
Some say different shoes give drastically different watts for the same effort/pace. This hasn't been my experience though, across many different types and brands of shoes.
Some say it's horrible at wind and hills. Again, I cannot confirm. In light breezes to stiff wins, the watts remains predictable and reliable. Same with shallow to moderately steep hills.

Started my vacation with a long #run — out the door in the dark, turning it into a memorable #sunriserun.
Covered 27.11 km in 2h 28m 23s at a pace of 5:28/km.

My treadmill lies! It reckoned my run tonight was 5.6km. My #Stryd, which I put far greater trust in, reckons I only ran 4.9km. Certainly felt more than 4.9km though... serves me right from wimping out of running in the rain.

Today, I am halfway through my #Marathon training for the #CologneMarathon.
Over 13 of 26 weeks, I’ve run 576.79 km in 52 hours, 56 minutes, and 36 seconds.
Yesterday, I registered for the #HalfMarathon in #Cologne on August 24th. That will be my dress rehearsal, six weeks before #RaceDay.

Today I finished my last #run of 15 weeks of training for the #halfmarathon in #Bonn. I'm thankful that I had no issues with my knee the whole time. This year, I won't aim for a new personal best (1:33:45), even though both #Garmin & #Stryd predict almost the same finish time as last year.
I think anything under 1:39:59 is fine. The big goal this year is the #Marathon in #Cologne — and for that, I still have many limits to push

Two weeks until the #Bonn #HalfMarathon! Today, I finished my last long run. I haven’t been feeling great since last week was quite challenging. Had a sprint training session on Friday that really squeezed me out. Rescheduled tomorrow's training to tuesday.
Now I will enjoy all the pineapple that is waiting in the fridge for me....🍍😋

Second day with the #Stryd, and it is interesting to see the difference between what Stryd thinks my pace is compared to what the treadmill thinks my pace is.
#Treadmill runs are undoubtedly more accurate in terms of changes in pace now, just suprised how much slower they are than the treadmill's values.
From what I've read, sounds like the Stryd will improve it terms of accuracy after I've got some more outside runs in, so I'll keep following the plan as it is for now, but try and get more outdoor runs in.

For the #RunnersOfMastodon who train with #Stryd, they just dropped a new article from an Olympic coach who uses Stryd with his athletes.
It dives into the weeds with the detailed metrics Stryd provides, what they are, average ranges, and what you can do to improve them.
This is probably, single-handedly, the best article they've released to date IMO. It answers the question "how can I be a better runner with all these metrics?"
