Today I went out to burn some xmas calories …
Today I received my first (early) Xmas gift - got clearance from the doctors to go running again 🎉😎✌️
Needed this so desperately.
Vor rund 20 Monaten habe ich mir ein Paar gute Laufschuhe gekauft, sonstige preiswerte Grundausstattung bei Decathlon und habe mit einem der unzähligen "Couch to 5K"-Trainingspläne begonnen, um den Firmenlauf am Berliner Olympiastadion mitmachen und überstehen zu können.
Dann habe ich "Blut geleckt", bin zwei- bis dreimal die Woche gelaufen und habe mir #Runna als Trainingsapp dazugeholt.
Im September dieses Jahres gab es dann meinen ersten individuellen Lauf (10km in Bochum, 1:10h) und heute den nächsten Schritt mit einem "Rennen" nur für mich, und dem Ziel, die 5km in unter 30 Minuten zu schaffen. Und: Es hat geklappt. :)
Anfangen, Struktur geben (lassen) und dranbleiben. Das ist – wie so oft – das Wichtigste.

Das Wetter war wirklich ekelig, aber wenn mein Körper nicht damit beschäftigt ist, die Körpertemperatur runterzufahren, kann er die Energie ins Laufen stecken. Dürfte nur ein wenig trockener sein..
A few words on my experience with #Runna.
The app looks great and made a (solid and ambitious) AI-powered personalized training plan. Fine.
However, it provides audio feedback on pace *all* the time. "Slow down!" "Speed up!" Sometimes three such cues in 100 meters (and then 21.1k is a looooong way to go). It turned #running into a mechanical activity.
Could it make me faster? Maybe. Would it ruin my enjoyment of running? Certainly.
And that is why I stick with #NikeRunClub and @coachbennett.
An amazing morning run. It was cold (0 degree C), and it was pitch black when I started, but over the two hours the sun rose and I got to watch the world wake up. I spotted hares and a flock of geese, a young deer just 10 meters from me.
My free trial of #Runna expires now, and I won't move to a paid subscription. #NikeRunClub is better for me.

Und dann auch gleich als mein erster Lauf im Dunkeln mit Stirnlampe aus dem Kopf. Der Bananenradweg ist teilweise wirklich dunkel...
Today’s #training (first #winter #maintenance #run) was a #progressive run from 5:45 to 5:05 in steps of two km. Managed to hold the pace also uphill 😎✌️
An early and easy morning run. It was nice, and I felt good out there. Not much to report, really; it was just a run.
This was the third test run of the #Runna app. I look forward to Thursday, where I'll do intervals, and it'll have to show its true colors.

Today’s #race was the last one for 2025. Took it easy and just enjoyed it - even the stairs up to the finish line. Bonus: My wife and daughter joined me to cheer me up!
Such a joyful long run this morning. I got to see the sun rise over the sea, I met my mother and brother (quite a surprise), and I just had a blast out there. This was week 37 of #52weeks52halfmarathons.
I'm still testing the #Runna app, tweaking the settings to best suit my preferences.

A tempo run in the dark of the morning with The War on Drugs as my soundtrack. Many runners out there. This was a hard run, and it felt good.
I test the #Runna app these days. The guided runs in #NikeRunClub are gold, but I need something to push me a little further on especially long runs. Maybe this is it..?

During today’s #training, I smashed every one of the 8 #intervals (target pace 4:55/km) 😎.
The rest of the week is free before Saturday’s #race, which will conclude this year’s running season.
Today I went out for a 12 km #EasyRun to free my mind. I needed that desperately.
