Just a reminder to people that when you see people posting their #Art, #Photography, #Writing / #Microfiction, or otherwise being a #ContentCreator on the #Fediverse, we can't see that you've looked at what we posted unless you interact with it. A post with no interactions could have been seen by no one, or a few thousand people, we don't know.

If you like what we are doing, and want to see more of that, be sure to click one of the buttons: #boost it, #follow them, #reply with something as simple as "I like this", or even just hit that #fave button, because the fave button is great for telling us that people looked at it and wanted to see more. We all Love that feedback!

The number one reason #ContentCreators leave the network is because they don't think people are looking at their posts, and #TheContentMustFlow, so simply acknowledging that you like their work is crucial to keeping them on the network.

You can help Fedi grow just by liking posts!

Remember that #FediFightsFascism.

When you engage with the #Fediverse, you're engaging in #IndependentMedia, loosening the grip that #Fascism has on the discourse. These kinds of channels are crucial for enabling #AntiFascist discourse, and just generally making a space where #fascists don't have any power.

...and anything that builds the network counts. Posting links to mainstream media sites counts. Posting pictures of flowers on the BloomScrolling hashtag counts. Posting random blurbs about your day counts. Even just lurking and scrolling around counts.

Anything that builds the network, and especially anything that adds to the wide range of content on here, counts.

Reminder again that there is NO #ALGORITHM ON HERE. Which means POSTS WITH LINKS ARE GOOD.

Sometimes I see people advertising #streaming or #commissions and they don't have an actual link to the site it's on, meaning there's nothing for people who see the post to click. This also means, because there's nothing to click, there's nothing to really share other than someone saying they are doing something.

So put links in your posts!

And making you feel welcome is a community effort, with actual investment, because the community runs the platform and we all want more artists.

And even if you have a problem with where you're at, you can always move to a server that will give you a better environment.

...but that's hardly ever even a problem because most server staffs consider artists, anyone making new and interesting content really, to be the greatest asset the community has, because #TheContentMustFlow.

Saddened to find out today that apparently #Cohost, an indie nonprofit blogging site that was popular among artists, is shutting down. There was a lot of good content on there, and I know how it feels to see the place that you've been posting your thoughts and art for what could have been years suddenly evaporate, and for some people, I know it's just as they've been getting established there.

A shut down like this hurts everyone.

If anyone is coming over from co-host, or any other site that is going down, or a country like #Brasil / #Brazil that has banned your previous #SocialNetwork, or just needs help getting established on here in general, feel free to reach out to me. I am always an open volunteer for expanding the #Fediverse.

I also encourage anyone who has a Cohost account to go post on there to try and help the users find their way here.

We have until the end of the month to get them all over here!

Reminder to thank your local Moderators, who have to slog through literally the most vile and hateful content that people post on the #Fediverse in order to keep it off you're timeline. Like, these people are unpaid volunteers who basically agreed to be exposed to everything you don't want to see, then go in and resolve stupid fights or deal with people in crisis, all with people screaming that so-and-so is literally Hitler because they didn't perfectly handle such-and-such user saying something stupid right away.

...and yet the Network stays together, the timeline stays clean, and the content keeps flowing, and as we all know, #TheContentMustFlow.

So thanks #Fedi #Moderation! Keep up the good work!

I always see people saying it's not about posting things that are popular, but I always think that's kind of dumb. Of course we want these posts to be spread around and looked at, and of course we want people to like them: that's the entire point of posting them on a public microblogging site. If we weren't looking for people to find this stuff interesting, we could just write things down on piece of paper and toss them in a hole somewhere, or go post them on Twitter for the Russian GPT bots. And half the reason I'm posting it on here is because I hope if people like it they will stick around the network to read and post more stuff, so Fedi can grow.

The whole point of me posting all this shit here is because I hope a bunch of people will read it and like it, and I'm tired of pretending that it's not.

Reminder that if you know #artists who are still birdsite exclusive, to let them know that you would like them to make accounts here and that you would follow and boost their posts. I've seen quite a few new ones make accounts and start cross-posting #art over here in the past month, which is exactly what we need to keep the feeds populated and the platform growing.

Remember, Fedi is a community effort: we're all in this together, and #TheContentMustFlow!
